Thought about posting this in the MTT forum but it seemed more logical here.

I've never played a WSOP event but I am strongly considering this one. I'm curious if anyone has played it, is the structure good, and what the quality of play was like?

it's kinda fast but if you get past the initial wave of deaths it's fine
pretty soft

Don't make light call down these tourney players never bluff and never value bet with anything except monsters like top pair or better

Biggest complaint compared to last years 1500 was that it took to long to reach the money (like almost dinner break of Day 2 iirc, not that I cashed). I think they have made some changes to reverse this trend in general w the 1500s.

But if you're a semi-serious LHE player, this is the tourney for you. The field is soft, the table banter fun and more relaxed than a 25k NL 6max (or prob any NL tourney where they tank for ages and stare each other down), and it's a chance to meet a more diverse group of people/players than in your standard mid stakes cash game in your local room.

I was planning on playing it for the first time this year, but have a conflict. A friend who has run fairly deep in it claims that it is pretty soft.

What do you guys think about Grinder's play on this hand?

Michael Mizrachi opens with a raise from early position and Ryan Turner three-bets. Mizrachi calls.

The flop is Jh 9d 5s and Mizrachi checks. Turner bets, Mizrachi calls.

The turn is the 8h and Mizrachi checks again. Turner bets, Mizrachi raises, and Turner calls.

The river is the 4d and both players check. Mizrachi shows KxJx for top pair and wins the pot.

Michael Mizrachi - 76,000
Ryan Turner - 13,800
