if you are calling down in spots like this, the PF raise is bad. like, if you knew you could fold to this particular flop raise no problem, the PF raise is fine. that you don't means this villain is good enough to leverage his position against you.

what range do you give him for raising? any K surely, how about any 9? i assume any FD, but what about gutshots? is he barreling the draws off? is he giving up river? my gut is that this calldown is bad.

Yah I don't get it at all. It makes people play better postflop imo because they fold on A-high flops but never J-high. I'd rather be in a position to c/f bad flops and c/r good ones vs. the limping autobetting monkey who bets every flop that's checked to him and then calls the c/r with 8 high no draw.
