Re: Should I donk out now ?

I think this is an ideal hand to 3 barrel against most opponents (we basically have our nut low at this point with an ok draw.) If villain isn't folding a hand like A7 (a hunch from your description) on a brick river, bluffing doesn't make much sense, especially a multi-street bluff.

Re: Should I donk out now ?

Easy donk on river. Not even close. This is b/c I will sometimes donk bluff here with a missed flush draw or even a weak hand as well, depending on villains body language when river hits, how he's been running, how SD bound has he been in the last 2 hours, etc.

Re: Should I donk out now ?

Would he definitely raise the flop with JT or J9? My standard line would be to bet and (crying) call a 4-bet here. No reason he can't have a jack in his hand given his line, right?

Therefore, donk the river. Not close. If villain 3!'s you, just call and pray to see trips or a hand that splits with you.

If you donk, how can you get 3! by villain?

Re: Should I donk out now ?

I'll go ahead and throw in the lone vote for c/r, given your dynamic and the player description and the fact that you'll get a bet out of bluffs, and he's going to pay off the c/r with anything he bets for value.

I'd probably bet the turn too -- I think that's the more interesting street

I did not bet because I have SD value and I am not super excited when raised (will happen often enough here to be concerned about it IMO). What is your argument for betting, GM ?

I agree the turn is far more interesting. I more lean toward checking the turn. The decision relies almost entirely on villain folding the wheel aces on the turn. If I was confident he would fold those, I think betting the turn could be better, but if hero has to barrel the river too it gets pretty tough. It is a close decision though. I played with some numbers, but it getting late....

Armor: come on, KJ does not have showdown value on this board.

No, I want to check call turn and fold river UI if he bets again; my SD is good if he gives up OTR with a worse hand which happens with him sometimes. I do realize that this somewhat contradicts with "overaggro" read, but it still happens with him. But the more I think of it, especially in light of your and DpR's responses, I realize it is quite a fishy way to reason.

sorry for my illiteracy but what do you mean "wheel aces"? Like A2, A3, A4, A5 as whole cards ? I just didn't hear this term before when there are no wheel draws on the board, so making sure I understand right.
