A few reasons (hopefully this won't hijack the thread too much):
a) the stat is misleading, because it includes a lot of times where I would play an hour of the 20/40 waiting for a seat in the 40/80 game, where I'd play 7 hrs. I count those as 2 sessions, so it averages 4 hrs a session but the first one doesn't really count.
b) Most of the sessions were played when I was part-time, meaning I would go play after work but only get in 3-4 hrs before I had to go to bed and get enough sleep for work the next day. Or I would play for a few hours on the weekend but leave in time to go out clubbing or parties or whatever weekend social activity was going on (which is still why I play less on weekends than I should given how good the games are).
c) I do tend to be at my best and most focused in the first 5-6 hrs of play. After that, I get bored or tired or whatever, and I slip into my B-game. And if I don't, the table has a good enough read on me that I stop getting any action (yes even the fish figure out after losing a rack to me that they have to stop calling my river bets with third pair), and when I try to adjust by bluffing more or whatever, the session just becomes higher variance.
d) I'm very Tommy Angelo in that I've always been good at quitting, so I never stay when I'm stuck. If I've lost 2-3 racks and it's only been 3 hrs, I just leave. Screw if the game is good, it'll be good tomorrow too.

Great post. I'd have been sorely tempted to have tipped the sb right after tipping the dealer though.

Had my first 6-rack win ever today, just demolishing dreams left and right. It was a great combo of running hot and playing really well, just taking advantage of every situation I could and feeling like all my opponents' cards were face up.
It started with little things like there were 2 limps, a LP raise, SB call, I call in BB with A8hh, flop T86 two spades. I just felt like donk was the right play here (b/c I didn't want to face two cold back to me and was hoping a raise would knock out tough SB), so I donked, UTG raised, some guy cold-called, PFR and SB folded. Turn and river checked around and I won as UTG showed Q6ss and caller mucked face down. SB claimed to have folded 99 on the flop and was all pissed (he ran bad and dropped 2 racks in 20 minutes then left), especially after I 3-bet him the next hand with 88 and won on a K-high board.
I won a few more hands showing down top pairs and stuff, and people were all starting to lose and get unhinged. There were one or two limpers and I limped in MP with 8 7 and the CO raised and one blind called and limpers and I called. Flop Q 9 4 . I mentally give up on the hand and space out while checking. But the PFR surprises me by checking through. I know him to be the type to bet draws, so there's no way he has a diamond here. The turn is the A . I expect one of the others to bet their flush, but they both check to me. Hmm, good spot for a bluff given my image, so I bet. PFR mucks, limper lifts up her cards showing muck (out of turn but whatever), and BB mucks face up showing me 7 3 . He says "take it take it! I had it already on the flop, turn killed me!"
I hardly ever show bluffs, in fact I can't remember the last time I showed one in a real game (prob 2+ years), but I couldn't resist tilting everyone even more, so I showed. Everyone was all "waaaaat" including this fairly loose, fairly aggressive, decent player to my left. He says "No it's good for the game to show, good for the game. Now everybody will call you. I call you."
Two hands later I open in EP with A Q . Neighbor to my left does as promised and cold-calls me. I get one or two more callers.
Flop A T 4 . I bet, he calls, other(s) fold.
Turn 2 . I have him right where I want him so I check, he bets, I c/r, he angrily calls.
River 5 . I check, he goes "you check again?!" and bets. I call, he angrily tosses up K Q for the K-high misplayed-every-street.
I'm feeling pretty gas about this session and suppressing a grin as I put the chips into my fourth-plus rack of profit, feeling the steam come from all sides of me. A little while later I lose what feels like my first hand when I raise ATs and the guy with the 7 3 that I bluffed out calls me and calls a K93 flop so I give up and fold to his river bet after the turn goes ck-ck.
Then one hand after that, I open 99, one c'caller, he 3-bets, and both blinds call, I call, limper calls. 5 to the flop for 7.5 BBs already.
Flop comes K93 again, this time skittles. Checked to PFR who bets, both blinds call, I c/r, c'caller folds, PFR 3-bets, both blinds call, I cap, all 3 call. 4 to the turn for a pot that has ballooned now to 15.5 BBs.
Turn looks safe as a Jh completes the skittles, until the SB donks out. She is suuuuuper loose and suuuuuper passive, so she basically has KJ at worst, but more likely QT. The BB raises next in, which is gross because he's very looose-passive too, and now he has to have QT if she doesn't. I cold-call, PFR moans and cries and folds what he claims is AA. SB 3-bets in rhythm, which definitely turns her hand face up as QT, and BB caps! Well, this is cool because I know nobody has a stupidly played KK/JJ, meaning any pair on the board gives me the nuts. I cold-call again as the pot is now 27.5 BBs.
As I am calling, BB's eyes bulge out of his head (more than they already were, since he had called 4 bets on the flop with a miracle gutshot and got there) and says to me "you still call?! You need pair on the board! Dealer no pair the board!" and as I call the SB calls quickly then grabs another bet and puts it over the line. "I bet dark," she says, which is lolbad, and BB knows it. He goes "No! Why you bet? Pair the board we lose!" And I might be annoyed that this is pretty much awful and unethical of the guy, both collusion between him and her as well as telling her what my hand is, but I don't really care at this point because I am gasoline this session and I AM going to pair the board and anyway she already bet dark.
So I say "Yeah, I'm gonna pair the board on the river so thanks for building me a bigger pot!" The dealer puts out the top-model 3 on the river, giving me nines full and putting the BB into convulsions. "AIYA! HE MAKEA FULL HOUSE!" and yet he still angrily throws his call into the pot because Jesus he's getting 28.5:1. I laugh and raise and say "yes! Thank you dealer!" and BB sees my raise and this just confirms what he already knew, so he directs his anger at SB again: "Why you bet dark, he raise! Straight no good!" and the SB shrugs and shakes her head and says "eh it doesn't matter" and pays off while BB folds for one more bet. I show, she shows everyone her QT as if we didn't know what it was, and gives me the bad-beat glare.
I win the 32 BB pot to just add to my already gargantuan stack and just then the floorman comes over to say "We got a seat for you in the main game."
Oh yeah, this was the must-move I was in. I'd been playing for 2.5 hrs. Main game looked lousy, so I booked the 6-rack win and drove home early. EZ game.

Great feeling PJ. My favorite 6 racker story(sory sidetrack)
garden city tried to get an 80/160 off the ground about a year ago. I show up like 1st or second day and its like 4 or 5 handed. Game is sick. I sit down and proceed to get stuck 1.5 racks. Guy next to me (well known player at 101 who I didnt know until that day). He was stuck a grip ad proceeds to run table over busting all the fish. He then racks up and leaves. Game breaks leaving me stuck 3k. I then go over to sick 40 game and proceed to go on rush of epic proportions. I won 6 racks in like an hour and a half. Never had a rush like that ever. Also that was my first time playing as high as 80 so though I was on lifetilt when game broke I had the best feeling in the world when I torched that 40 to get my money back.

wow talk about someone not adapting well to WTK's playing style.. Why would this guy ever raise the turn with anything less than a pair of fives against WTK?

Re: post a hand where you ruin someone's life
tonight I ruined 2 players, a floorman, and a waitress' lives all in same hand.
winning TAG open limps MP, tilty LAG raises otb I 3bet the pocket kowboys in BB. MP calls and button caps. Flop is K23r I bet MP calls, button raises, I 3bet , Mp calls, button caps, both call. Turn is 5. I bet MP raises, button calls , I 3bet, MP turns white calls. River is 5 and I get paid off by AA and AK.
About the time hand is over , button's food gets delivered. He has a tendency to go off on dealer's for small mistakes if he's losing. So he proceeds to berate the poor waitress for the food being too cold and too much lemon in his tea or something like that. One of the nicest floormen comes over to see what's going on and he starts berating the floorman. Unfortunately for rest of table he rack up his remaining chips and leave to go play paigow.

Commerce 40/80. UTG limps. I've seen him around quite a bit, but have never played with him before. I get AKo on the button and raise. Blinds fold, he looks away and calls.
Flop: Q85
He checks, I check.
Turn: 4
He checks, I check.
River: 4
He checks, I check, he turns over KK.

Re: post a hand where you ruin someone's life
[x] ruined own life
[x] twice
I raise KQ and we see the flop 4 ways, with me in position. I think it's both blinds and one limper, or maybe one blind and two limpers...anyway, the flop is:
872r
They all check to me and I check behind.
Q, putting hearts
Blind donks, other two both call, I raise, all call.
T, completing hearts
They all check, I bet, blind calls, one other calls. I say "This is gonna be close" Blind tables AQ, limper flashes Q9, I muck.
Next...
I have KQdd at an absurdly loose table. A regular fish raises (aggro preflop, spastic but usually passive post flop) and I call next in still in EP. Shockingly the pot only goes off 4 ways (I was expecting 6).
J44 two diamonds.
Checked to the raiser who bets. I raise. Folds to him and he 3-bets, I call.
9
He...checks. I decide he has a flush draw also, despite the fact that I can see the J, Q, and K of diamonds, and bet. He calls.
Brick
He checks, I bet, he calls and tables JT.

LOL, it's like those people that flop quads and check all the way then bet the river, get no callers and proudly show they flopped quads.

I'm going with d). Because my average session looks like it's 3-4 hrs according to the books. And I've never played longer than 9-10 hrs.

Wow, my average session length is 2.3 hours and even I've hit a 6 racker. I'm guessing:
e) you have a low variance style
