Re: post a hand where you ruin someone's life

I can't help it, I love this hand...

Typical loose passive 10/20 live game, but at my end of the table there's two laggy young guys and the three of us are in a battle of egos or something like that.

I'm UTG with A9s and I raise, folded to the SB who calls, BB calls. 6 sb

Flop: T98 rainbow (I have bdf)

Checked to me, I bet, they call. (4.5 bb)

Turn: Tr

SB leads, BB folds, I raise, SB calls.

River: Q

SB leads, I raise, SB hems and haws... and calls, and mucks.

Oh hells yeah!

flop was a pair, and either we checked it or i bet and you called and cody folded on a flop of like TT6 or something.

turn was a 6. and you bet, (and i think cody folded there if not on the flop) and i (being a stupid NEWB that i was) said "you have nothing" or "alright i'm calling you down" and put one bet in (i guess it was 10/20 or something) with the other one in my hand. you checked the river and i checked behind and you tabled some lower pair and i won.

i woulda gotten another bet if i just shut my mouth, thought, and called...

... i guess that is what learning experiences are for

I remember this. Damn. Nice hand.

Mike l. needs to post about the time that some guy at Commerce 1/2 correctly 5bet the turn against him with AK high.

Late night Commerce 40, Villain has been on perma-tilt for a week I think. Earlier we played a hand where I raised AK and he defended his blind, and the flop was KQ6 and he check-called flop and turn, and donked a river 3 and I paid to see his Q3o.

So the very next time I got AK, I was happy to see that same villain open-raise. I 3-bet, BB calls, villain calls.

Flop 552. BB checks, villain donks, I call, BB calls.
Turn 3. BB checks, villain bets, I call, BB thinks for a while. While he does, the dealer burns and turns a Q as the river card. BB says "wait!" And finally folds, closing the turn action. Dealer apologizes, realizing he dealt the river too early, and the floorman is called over. The floorman (correctly) rules that the Q is to be shuffled back into the deck and a new river card dealt.
River A.

As I scoop the pot, villain stares unholy daggers of hell into the dealer, and then shouts at the floorman. Villain and floor argue for a while before the floor leaves, satisfied with his decision. Villain turns his wrath on the dealer and abuses him for about 3 hands until the dealer puts an end to it, threatening to have him removed if he continues abusing him. "Dealers aren't supposed to make mistakes like that! Not for all the big money like that!" "I'm sorry, sir, but the hand is over. Move on. I made a mistake." "You aren't supposed to make mistakes!"

I was trying to crawl into a shell and never be noticed again. But I do feel a bit like the universe was put back into order, because I lost a gigantic pot about 2 years ago in Vegas when I had AQ vs. some guy's A5 and 3 other morons drawing dead
in a pot that was several bets PF, on flop, and at least a bet or two on the turn. Over the mountain of chips the dealer had burned and turned the Q river too early (lol same river) before the button finished folding his cards, and the new river was a 5, losing me the pot. I never forgot that dealer error, and in some weird way this is cosmic vindication. But man, now I'll never forget the locomotive of steam that came burning out of the eyes of this guy at the Commerce 40. Thankfully he didn't blame me but I still feel like I ruined his life (for those 5 minutes).
Awesome story

I had one of those too. Played short 40 before the tourney. Busted first hand and come back to see this out of town dude alone with chips at the empty table and he asks if I want to play. He played OK short but not agressive enough. We play HU for like and hour before anyone joins us. Ran sick good and smoked him for 5 racks. I don't know why I win so much HU. Probably because I'm too stupid to lay down a hand. Went on to have a plus 9K day, my best ever in the 40. Probably ruined another life that day too

live 100/200
villain apparently plays a lot in this game, but i have only played with him once before, and not for long at all, so basically he has no idea what he is in store for. This was his 6th hand at the table, and proved a worthy introduction.

villain raises, folds to me and i defend A 9

flop hu: A 6 6
check, bet, i call

turn: K
check, check

river: 4
check, bet, i check/raise, he pays me and my hand is good. The introduction is now complete.

My name is Bob and I am from the land where expert lhe players are reered. If you want to bet thin rivers against me, you may want to think twice about it.

I'm asian and I don't get it either. I must be even thicker than you. That or its cuz I grew up in a majority-caucasian neighborhood.

Two more live 100/200 hand vs. two different regulars in the game who will eventually learn manners.

Hand 1

I raise KJo in MP, 2 coldcalls, blinds call.

Flop T94
Checks to me and I check, first coldcaller bets, button calls, blinds fold.

Turn: Qr

checks through

River: 9

I check, bet, button folds, I c/r and he pays me. His demeanor once he sees my hand and for a few minutes afterward says "OK. You run things here. I get it. Please don't **** with me any more."

Hand 2:

I raise ATo in EP, get 3bet by the next player in, folds to me an i call.

flop A42r

check, check

turn 6

check/check

river 2

Check, bet, raise, call. This player's friend who was in a big mixed game and was sweating this hand had a look of sheer horror when he walked back to his game.

As stated earlier, my name is Bob and I am from the land where expert lhe players are reered. If you want to bet thin rivers against me, you may want to think twice about it.
