Sadly I can think of some players in the FW player pool who would make this insaneo fold at your pretty face up hand.

It is the issue about river odds and folding hands that can beat some of the villain's value bets. Not only do you beat some bluffs, but hands he's giving action expecting to get called by worse. Makes you wonder in NL where that break-point is. Maybe people just suck live at value betting, but let's say that we all agree that folding AA in LHE is nuts. How big a bet can you face in NL to make the fold correct? Let's say our villain doesn't bet small with the nuts and big with bluffs. Full pot is an easy fold with AA? 3/4? Half?

Depends how face up these guys are. If it's the type of fish who calls 2 times here with KXhh and donks top pair to avoid letting AJ or QQ off cheap with like half pot, it might even be a raise. But most fish suck at sizing and give off massive betting tells. 3/4ths is probably a crying call. Pot is a snap fold.

Is there any ethical/collusion issue here?
if you're refusing to talk about other players for ethical reasons you're throwing away money. if you have a problem with people discussing strategy against you, all you can do is stop playing. it obviously sucks for those with very exploitable leaks, but it's reality.

I feel like lots of people do this and I don't really have a problem with it. I frequently will ask other reg-friends "what do you think of XYZ's game?" and sometimes XYZ is a winning reg, other times it's a loser, sometimes it's someone who maybe wins or loses a little and I'm just curious if they think they're winning.

Occasionally I'll get a response like "well, they never check-raise bluff the turn" or something. Sometimes I know the response to be incorrect, other times they're spot on. I don't think discussing other players in the game away from the table is unethical at all.

Sometimes it'll even be a learning situation. Pre- Black Friday online I might talk to a friend about a player we both thought was very very solid and we'd look at their stats and compare to our own and think "what makes this person such a crusher?" I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

A great way to improve is to compare your play to others and see what is different.

It is also beneficial to 'study' this way with other players.

Loose passive whale playing 90/10 limps UTG, hero raises MP w/ AA, TAGfish calls OTB, whale calls.

Flop 556

ck/bet/call/whale raises/call/call

Turn 7

bet/call/call

River 5

bet/raise/fold/3!/hero folds

he shows quads to qualify for the high hand

20 minutes later, same whale limps in EP. Hero 2! QQ, 1 caller, whale calls

Flop AAx ck/bet/fold/shaky hands call

Turn x ck/bet/tank shaky hands call

River A donk/2!/3!/hero folds

^ High hand still in effect and no quad show in second hand?
