Nm my earlier comment they are probably just worried about you around the holidays and trying to help.

What if you knew what preflop action was going to be, but the board cards would be different? Would you still play that hand the same? I don't think that is a profitable spot for a preflop raise in a 4 way pot with that hand, and it seems unlikely to be a fluke that both blinds called, as you seem to have a spewy image in the game

I don't think you deserve to be berated about it, and you still need a way to deal with the comments, but you might also want to take this opportunity to think about if you are making some spewy plays.

insulting somebody would seem an odd way to accomplish that

If I knew in advance both blinds would call, no, I would fold. I was trying to isolate the whale. I didn't know they were calling. SB in this hand could be trusted to fold (he must have picked up something decent) and BB wasn't calling 80% or anything.

I go to the casino to gamble! Why do you go?

I understand why you raised preflop, and I don't think it's necessarily a bad play, but you might just want to be aware if you could be overusing it. The more often you make light isolation plays (and showdown), the less likely the isolation attempt will actually be successful. If it is getting common for people in the game to complain about your maniacal play (regardless of whether true or not), it is likely time to change gears.

Pay close attention to what they are saying. You might learn something and become a better player.

This is actually completely true, even if what they are saying is totally mistaken. If you know what they consider to be bad play, and they are trying to play well, you can more narrowly narrow down their hand ranges in many situations.

Here's a decent story where I got berated. 7 handed and I open QTs utg+1. Spazz 3bets and we go to flop hu.

Flop a22

I chk call

Turn a

I chk call

River 7

chk chk

I say, "Queen" and turn over my hand.

Spazz stares at my hand, "How could you call me with that! What a terrible call!"

He holds onto his cards....

"I thought it might be good... Is it?"

Spazz mucks.

Ignoring them is obviously the default but these are regs I play a lot. It's getting old. Explaining how I'm playing good and they suck is also a knee jerk reaction, but that's clearly no good. What are my other options?
easy game

no gamble no future

why are you trying to teach me how to play better?

Shrug and say "Listen, I just put the 8 chips out there..."

You know, poker is like a battle. I send my guys out there and I hope they bring back some friends. I hate to leave anyone behind.

first hand of Holdem tonight UTG opens, 4 calls, I call 75dd BB, J94 with 4d flop, UTG bets all call, I call & end up scooping big pot. Nice woman who wasn't in hand loses her **** for couple minutes discussing my call with table.

As she's winding down 6 players limp in next hand and I fold SB, and then she loses her **** again.

She doesn't sound very nice to me.

As BB, "I just came to gamble Ma'am".

As SB, "I didn't come here to gamble Ma'am".

I think you're supposed to call ATC getting better than 13:1
