P.s. Jesse quit. And then got barred. Double beat.

thank you!
You guys do get free food, that's arguably better, than $1 or 2 bucks an hour, and free rooms if you aren't using them.
Out of curiosity, how many props do you think are there at say the bike? at any given time? Say 1-2 per 20-40 game? 1 or 2 at 40-80? 1 or 2 at 8/16 or is that too low?

WTF does this have anything to do with a casino not allowing you to play there?
On another note, while having 2p2 back to entertain me is good I suppose, while it was down I really got after it at the tables and realized that I waste too much time here.

Probably more backstory in play but I think its ridiculous that Jesse got barred. Just another incident in the never ending cycle of allowing cretins who suck at poker do whatever they want to fellow humans because they suck at poker. Not that I am not a part of the cycle, but it does disgust me.

Actions are in place to get Jesse an undertitle:
Yes, you barred
Let's see if it happens...

Re: May Low-Content Thread
Jesse,
Love you long time, but my vote is woith Mike L. on this one. His income (and yours) os derived from some very hateful and hateable people and part of the job is to do nothing to them. I'm not sure if "pride" is the right word, but just don't say anything, be a mute.

Mike L. is right about not tapping on the aquarium. But if Jesse's behavior warrants barring, then cardrooms should be emptied of players, because so many of them behave far, far worse.

Re: May Low-Content Thread
If I think Jesse was way out of line after hearing it from his own perspective, just imagine the way it sounded to his boss when Mike told it.
Maybe Jesse could have found pride in conducting himself like a professional. Getting butthurt by some mouthbreather saying something negative about you and running him off from a game is incredibly awful.
Keep an even keel. Don't allow a couple of minor setbacks (15k loss + a handful of mediocre games) to turn you into a miserable prick. Or else you're just another live poker playing *******.

Re: May Low-Content Thread
This is actual a pet peeve of mine for "professional poker players". I don't know Jesse beyond this story, so he may be a stand up dude at the poker tables otherwise, but in general, poker definitely could use a lot less of personalities like the one he described of himself. It's just common sense and Poker 101 at this point, isn't it? Don't let any terrible degens affect you and get any reaction out of you--especially when they're not directly affecting you (according to the story). Why play in their childish sandbox, when you can just be a rational person observing and collecting money?
Edit: I know he acknowledges his mistake, but I guess I have a problem even the way he describes it as "spoonful of sh**". It's just overdramatic. It shouldn't even be thought of that way. If you are truly a professional and assured of your ability to make money in the game, then the rest of the extracurricular stuff can easily be ignored. Put on some headphones, look at your bank account/records, and just be easy.

Re: May Low-Content Thread
i just got caught up on this bike drama. so the long of the short of it is jesse got barred by his old boss (wouldn't he be his current boss if jesse's being paid as a prop?) for running a fish out of the game?
shouldn't he just have gotten fired as a prop and not earn 15/hr? i mean that seems like a reasonable and more rational response to the situation. he failed in his job of helping to keep games going by running off a player most likely to keep the game going. for that, he shoudl be fired as a prop...not banned from the poker room.
is there something else i'm not understanding? is there some code of conduct for professionals that doesn't exist for non-professionals? who else has been barred and why?
as much as i agree that jesse was way out of line (after reading his account), i strongly disagree that barring him from the pokerroom is a fair response. and i didn't get who really had the authority to make the decision?
and why wouldn't mikel stick up for jesse if he could? i guess this whole thing has me confused lol.
i mean, i know many people barred from casinos...mostly foxwoods and a few from the borg. but those bannings are for WAYYYY LEGITIMATE reasons (fighting, running an illegal gambling thing using the poker room, throwing cards at dealers repeatedly, etc.). i've never heard of somebody barred for being a dick (w/o any physical confrontation) and/or running players out of a game.

Mike's usage of "pride" was a non sequitur and, as such, it's understandable that Jesse would think his friend was giving him a parting jab for his ill-advised behavior at the table (which, of course, he was).

I was really hoping that Mike would have downplayed his friend's role in that ugly business. Then again, I'll admit that my sensibilities about friendship are sometimes overly optimistic, even to the point of being naive.

Acknowledging his mistake- and subsequently apologizing for it- is precisely what makes Jesse a stand-up guy.
His blog description is nothing more than taking a little literary liberty in his characterization of his villain. And, tbh, I rather enjoyed it.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Jesse got barred was because his former boss was holding him to a "higher standard."

Careful sublime, you're getting precariously close to suggesting that human decency has a place at the table.

Yes. Jesse hasn't been a prop since the first part of April (or thereabout).
