Re: May Low-Content Thread

Once again an entertaining night of live play. I managed a small win at least despite making no big hands or ever getting a VB in past the flop and having to bluff for every win. Hand of the night: drunk kid check calls the flop which is AT3 vs super nit. Turn is 4 and drunk checkraises turn from 140 to 400 with 250ish behind. The nit goes in the tank and the drunk kid says "I am happy with the pot" and shows one card. He shows a deuce and most the table starts laughing then he shows the 5 and then everyone is laughing except the nit who is in the tank forever. The nit shows the 33 and is still in the tank. This is 10pm and I have to leave at 1030 and really want to play more than 1 hand before I go since the game is lol good so I call for a decision. Now I feel like calling the clock is generally poor form but ffs usually when you are making a tough decision you don't get to know your opponents cards. It became clear that dude couldn't do the math and 10 minutes or 10 hours wasn't going to change that. The best part was that once the 33 guy shows his hand he actually changes the math from a very close call with the implied odds to a super easy fold since he won't get the last 250 on a board pairing river.

Listening to the discussion as to who folds and calls there was enough to make my ears bleed.

I only played a few fun ones. One hand it folds to me on the button and I can feel the small blind getting excited about chopping which makes me laugh since with gray haired reg Oceans ICON in the BB there is a pretty good chance I open a2c. Sb says "oh he is gonna steal" and all my willpower was required to stop from saying "yeah, have you seen the BB play." I find A4o and raise. She defends and donks 623 and I giggle inside as I float since I know I am winning this pot but just not sure when or how. Turn pairs the 6 and I raise her 70 to 240. She bullet folds.

Was the 10/20 still going? I checked in the afternoon on the PA app and it showed both the 10/20 and the 40 still going.

Based on that alone, I would expect more and bigger games to go more frequently there.
They had that last year. They don't actually allocate the entire room (I think it's the biggest one at the Rio), but they have a section of it just for cash.

The Bravo Live app is up and running and showing 14 games, no LHE.

5/5 with 1500 max buy. It is a strange game and plays like 5/10 since nobody knows how to size a raise and that getting 200 BB in with AT on 4569T might not work out so good.

10/20 was going when I got there but was obviously doomed to break which it did. There were 2-3 twenty-somethings and 2-3 fifty-somethings wearing button downs. It didn't last past 5 pm or so.

There was no 40 and no 20 until about 6pm then the 20 went shorthanded for a few hours until I left.

I only remember people talking about high, like 75-150 or so. If you're thinking about playing, PM someone in town who may see the games. The 6 weeks in Vegas folks should be starting to show up. If you want mid-stakes O/8, I think you're back at the B if that game still even runs.

La Peste,

It was nice to see you ... leave.
When you got there I was up. When you left I was down like two racks. By the time I left 3 hr later I managed to come back net one rack up.

Keep calling and raising those cheeseballs.

Take care,
alba

Sometimes you run good by folding. I overlimp pocket 4s, button pops it pot goes off 5 ways. Flop comes A9x. One of the blinds donks one call I fold button raises. Turn comes 4. Button has pocket nines. Couple of hands later I muck pocket 4s UTG. MP button from previous hand pops it. Flop comes A8x. Turn 4. River 8. MP has A8o. I count all those bets saved.

Re: May Low-Content Thread

I decided to play the nightly 10pm $135 NL tunamelt at the RIO after grinding at the Bellagio all day. Worst idea ever. We had the same dealer for an hour and he was dealing for the first time ever in a real casino. The guy was LOL bad and constantly made mistakes. WSOP is a cool atmosphere though. Only cost me $135 to remind me how much I hate NL holdem tournaments. Next time I want to play one of those Ill just call the number on the back of the gambling addict panflits and listen to them tell me how it's not my fault Goodwill Hunting style.

I'm in Vegas. WSOP has O8 of various flavors. I heard them calling players for 10/20. Venetian has a few varieties, including Big O 5 card omahaha. Last night they had 4/8 and 8/16 O8. I'm sure the Orleans has it's usual stuff.

There's no need to punish oneself at the Bellagio.
