Most pairs are raising this flop and you're probably not getting check raised that often by 7s here either and can safely check back a brick river. Neither Villain is likely to have AQ/AK and you get Q-AT combos to fold in addition to A9-/Random back door spade draws like Qs9, and random BS that both spewy and sticky people play.

I feel that because turn CBet %s have decreased in online games that people are trying to mimick similar strategies in live poker which seems wrong to me. Turn CBet %s have decreased online because people have developed better balances between value/bluff ranges while live players have not.

Also you have more value betting your flush draw here multiway
Good post. We have to have the nut flushdraw in both our betting and checking range, so better to have the stronger ones in the betting range and weaker ones in the checking range.

I didn't think of 3betting turn while reading the hand but I like it.

Ban for no friendly emoticons!

I don't see how bluffing a lot in a protected pot is good here.

He doesn't necessarily have to be bluffing, he could just be raising for thinner value because of the other guys poor play. And depending on how loose the guy peels the flop and can be bluff simply because it looks like you shouldn't be bluffing when really you're just making him fold his garbage peel

He's bad because he's predictable. Predictable opponents are exactly the kind of players you should try and screw with

Ok I'm down with the sb raising for thin value as an exploit.

Which is exactly why one might find themselves in a spot where they c/r the turn for thin value knowing jr is going to monkey barely the turn, and either then don't know what to do on the river or are could be planning on c/f knowing he's never going to bluffing on the river

I mean if I'm barreling the turn w/ any pair, any good A hi FD, all my bad FD's and open enders, and V1 is calling with any semblance of equity, then A7 is still a little too thin (but at gamespeed it would be understandable why you might want to xr the turn). The sim I did on my phone gives A7s from V2's POV 27% equity, and it's definitely conceivable to believe that it's a value raise against a fish and an absurd barrel monkey who will just fire the turn w/ his entire range on this board.

Lol. I think betting all pairs is bad on the turn. Perhaps vs more aggressive opponents it's good Cus they're weaker when they just call the flop, but not here imo.

It's also a board where I'd expect to be called lightly, and I think there's a lot of value to betting again on the turn w/ 55 (I'd expect a J to raise the flop and for even a LP opponent to not have a ton of 7x in his range).

That's fair. However I question how much value you're really getting with 55 and A6s. If they both call do you still like your hand? If someone raises do you still like your hand? How does your checking range perform on the river with or without 55 and A6s in it?

Seems to me that without those hands at the top of your turn checking range your value range on lots of blank rivers is empty and your bluffcatchers are gonna suffer. I get that you wanna value bet thin with the bad player in the pot but I think that's offset due to the good lag.

Turn bet is solid. You rarely need to be ahead here for it to be worth it.

This is a side question. What do you guys cbet on this dry flop texture against two cold callers? We can narrow both villain's range as weak to mid pairs, weak broadway hands, and suited connectors. The note I'm keeping in mind is the IP villain is weak and the OOP villain is aware of what's going on...

Hero is a tag (maybe slightly tighter) and opens MP so I'm going to assume a range of something along the line of:

66+ (54)

ATo+ (48)
KJo+ (24)

A4s+ (60)
K9s+ (16)
QTs+ (8)
JTs (4)
T9s (4)
98s (4)
87s (4)

226 / 1326 = 17%

--------------------------

The flop comes Js6h2d. There is a cold caller in position and another cold caller oop.

With the range I gave hero,
66, 77, 88, 99, TT, JJ, QQ, KK, AA, AJo, AJs, KJo, KJs, QJs, JTs, A6s, all flop pairs or better...
AKo, AKs, AQo, AQs, ATo, ATs, A9s, A8s, A7s, A5s, A4s are all ace highs...
KQo, KQs, KTs, K9s are all king highs...
QTs, T9s, 98s, 87s are the rest of the hands...

Of the suited unpaired hands, 1/4 of them are flush draws and 1/4 of them are backdoor flush draws...

The 2 on the flop hits neither cold callers.

---------------------------------

I haven't ran how our range fairs against the cold callers since Idk what they cc with. But what candidates do you guys cbet on this flop 3ways?? This is a dry flop but isn't exactly a flop that smacks us (such as an AKQ flop). I honestly hate seeing a 6 since that hits the cold cold callers a lot more than us. We somewhat hit the jack, but Q,K,A are a lot stronger...

I like cbetting ace high with a bd flush draw since it

1) probably has 33%+ equity
2) can call a raise and continue on most turns.

But what about hands like ATo or QTs w/o a flush/bd flush-draw...

"But what candidates do you guys cbet on this flop 3ways?"

Any pair, any backdoor straight flush draw+ over card around the Jack, any two overcards.
