And, lol at your warning.

Oh and which hospital was this? If the story is true your brother should probably write a complaint to the ED director.
Not sure which ER but was in Riverside. Does sound preposterous but actually did happen.

Jon or other crushers:
Much play with this Yegor guy? Was he a big online name before back Friday? Played with him at Bellagio earlier in the month and seemed like the best one at the table most of the time.
06-23-2014 , 12:39 AM
he's been around for eons
06-23-2014 , 01:19 AM
Yea, played with him a lot live and online. Plays very solid and def rooting for him as I like to see good limit holdem players win limit holdem events. Also tournaments are stupid.
06-23-2014 , 10:45 AM
2 for 2 lifetime in tourney cashes bitches. Might just retire.

The more I play tournaments, the more correct I think this action is.

Wow, three 1/2s and four 40s.
Guess I should have delayed my Brazil trip til the knockout stage.

Anyone playing the 1/2s?
Jon or jameson?

It went a few times when I was there early in the month, but they seemed tough.
06-24-2014 , 01:33 AM
I basically never step foot in bellagio until after the wsop is done, play too many tourneys to justify waiting if I have to leave good games to sleep and be at rio at noon, etc. Presume the games are absurd if there's 3 1/2's tho.
06-24-2014 , 03:50 AM
They were all quite tough (seriously)
06-26-2014 , 01:04 AM
If anyone is around rio and wants to try and get a 1k limit holdem satellite glikg or similar if be happy to help start a few.

Yelp suggested Hong Kong Clay Pot Restaurant for dinner in China town. Very nice food was had in a locals only place. I had the walnut honey prawns and would recommend them.

Anyone have suggestions for lunch sushi? We're heading from Mission District to a couple museums by the warf, so we'll go past everything.

My suggestion for lunch sushi is not to have it. None of the ~10 best places I've been to in the city for sushi are open for lunch.

I haven't been to either but Ebisu and Akikos are both open for lunch and are supposed to be good. Akikos is more on your way.

Do not go to Japantown.
06-27-2014 , 01:43 AM
OK, for dinner what's your recommendation? We can do something else for lunch and dinner on the way back to the house.

If you're staying in the Mission, from most expensive to least, Maruya, Ichi, Kiji, and Sugoi. Maruya is quite a bit fancier than the others. Do not go to Blowfish under any circumstances.

Closer to Fisherman's Wharf, probably Zushi Puzzle. I haven't been but it's well regarded.

In Japantown, Ino, with the caveat that the chef is kind of a sushi nazi and it's not a super friendly atmosphere. Kiss Seafood if you want more of a kaiseki style meal with less sushi emphasis.

All these places are likely to be slammed on a Friday night. Kiji and Sugoi are probably your best bets for not waiting a long time, or maybe Ichi or Zushi if you line up right at opening.

In all honesty SF is not a great sushi town, and if you're not hellbent on sushi you should consider something on http://sf.eater.com/archives/2014/04...april_2014.php, which is a pretty reasonable list of not crazy expensive places.

coelacanth knows what he's talking about

also, akiko's is very good if you're willing to spend a decent amount of money on their omakase

ebisu is a higher quality generic sushi restaurant. everything on their menu you can probably find at almost any sushi restaurant but at least it'll be pretty decent quality. unless that's exactly what you're looking for, i wouldn't bother making a detour in that direction

I suggest getting some tapas sometime. There's a bunch of places in the Mission, although, admittedly, I don't think I've ever been in the Mission when it's not dark (except walking across the street from the BART to the UCSF shuttle).

In & Out for lunch ldo.

Surely he's had in n out in vegas.
I'd find a Super Duper for lunch if you're looking for casual.

If you're staying in the Mission, you don't want to miss El Farolito, FiveThirtyEight.com's #1 seed for America's best burrito.

(Or, you could go to any of the other taquerias in the neighborhood. In general they are quite good.)

Followed your advice, ty. Good mex from a place up the corner. Turns out no energy for fancier dining. 8yo needed cable cars, went over to California and rode up to Powell then down to Market. She had a great time, "awesome, exciting". That lead to some walking and journey before hitting the 12 and back to follow your advice for local Mission dining. Got it to go and enjoying it at the house.

Doug, if you are a sushi lover come over a few miles South to San Diego Nobody beats our Sushi Ota IMO.

Down to Monterey tonight. Tarpy's Road House for dinner. Had some nice pan seared scallops. Fish Wife tomorrow after a full day at the aquarium.

We stayed in a nice 2br apartment from vrbo in the mission District. Here we're half way between Sinanas and Monterey up in the hills. Super nice place. The owner met us driving in. There are farm fresh eggs she left us for breakfast. The "cabin" is beautiful and large. This is the 6th city we've done the vrbo thing in, and I can't remember a miss. I'll have pics once I wade through 1000 and get them uploaded on a computer.

So, basically 400 more miles to join you for sushi. I'll ask the little girl if she's game. She scored some fresh made sushi at the grocery we stopped at (two chefs there in the aisle making it for you, wth?) So she may not be desperate enough for 8 hours driving each way. Let you know.

After Kabuto I would say Ota is the best I have had in the states.

Congratulations on your company's acquisition sir.

Full day at the aquarium. He little girl did the tide pool scuba thing. Fun had by all. Fish Wife is always good. Calamari steak appetizer was great. All the entrées were gold, as well. This California is a nice place to visit.

Also, did Dr Olsen bink something last night?
