Don't you live in SoCal? Why not establish a residence in a place like Rosarito in Mexico and play from there? Shaniac more or less commutes back and forth. There's a pretty good sized poker community down there now.

in case its not obvious, 0/8, busto level 5 of 2500 OE. tournaments always end in 1 of 2 ways for me, have a healthy stack the entire time until inevitably having 12-20 bets and then suffering a totally normal 12-20 bet downswing or what happened today, just not getting anything going, getting it all in on a completely standard hand regardless of whether i have the best or worst of it and then never winning that hand. for you guys that go deep did you just sell your souls to satan to make sure that the 20 bet downswings happen to you early when you have 40-50 bets and that the 20 bet upswings always happen at the levels you have <20 bets?

2500 10game is next on the agenda in the torture chamber that is the wsop. im actually looking forward to this one so im sure ill be doing great and then bust on some mundane nlhe or plo hand and be tilted out of my ****ing mind. the good news is i have a couple of days to unsteam, hopefully i can have some more 100 bet wins playing 75 omaha, at least when they try to cheat me in that game i can rebuy. i wonder what it was that possessed me to play every tournament on earth instead of just grind 75 omaha like i had intended to do when i came out here. clearly im just saving up god mode for the main event.

I played ****ty and busted right before end of day 1 running like aids, decided that's not enough and inhaled some blazin sauce at wild wings to make the pain a multi-day event.

I'm calling dibs on either the 3k or the ante-only, that or dibs on 0/26, shunned by the world at large, go back to unsustainable cash rungood or just head for the nearest gutter, tbd I guess

I skipped the OE and slept all day instead. Today may have been my favorite day of this trip.

You should just play all stakes. Some times ill be playing yellow chip and purple in the same day. You got to find the table with the right dealer imo

Also some pros need to stop seat hopping and trying to get position on the fish. Just stay put and the fish will eventually take a seat to your right; you will get the money eventually anyway in the long run.

i played a couple hands terribad after dinner break. if i had played them any other way i wouldve lost just as much if not more tho so oh well.

if i moved to play online id just move to vancouver or somewhere in southeast asia and never come back tbh. its a possibility at this point but time will tell

Plus stop asking out loud who's coming from the must move and tripping over each other to the empty seat, or complaining loudly how the game went to **** after this or that person left, or berating the fish destroying a friendly game and making them leave with 5+ racks.

Everyones got a cap, and some reach a cap higher than others.

Beating live poker already puts you in a small group.

Beating it for a living puts you in a smaller group.

Beating it as a semi pro, even moreso.

Beating poker for $75K/year or more, over a decade or more(my personal def of a professional player), has to be an absolutely miniscule group of people.

I wouldn't sweat it if the highest I could beat was $100-200 LHE.

If you want recognition, go play donkaments. If you want self satisfaction, pick something outside of poker. If you want to make a living doing something without set hours and without a boss, you could do a lot worse than $100-200(or for that matter, $40-80).

That's the thing about Rosarito, it doesn't really require a "move". It's just a few miles south of TJ and you can probably drive there in an hour or two.

40 HE at CAZ, High stakes reg has been running bad for days and is stuck 3k or so in this game. On his 5th seat change in 3 hours finally gets god seat on Nice Drunk Asian Lady. She plays 85/30, and earlier when she left to get more money to play bigger, 5 regs snap leave 40 to buy green chips and sit at new table for an hour before giving up (I was in 20 and having no idea what was going on snap lock seat in 75 willing to post blinds even before I find out).

She finally came back to 40, limps in kill pot, reg raises, John.Locke folds, I 3b button w/KTo. 3 callers and I fold A high flop facing 2 bets. Reg scoops w/32s, and ends game w/6+ racks. I lose $3,500.

Edit: Reg just texted me that he wants to play 75. Wife is still in vegas finishing 4 days of unspeakable mayhem and debauchery with 3 divorcee friends (if anyone has any good stories about what she was up to, shut your pie hole and keep it to yourself, I don't want to know).

I have been able to text 3 potential babysitters so far. No takers yet.
