Yeah got 9/10 bricks on the last 4 hands I played. Tough to fade.

I'm watching the Stud8 final table...

Why does Idema not raise (AA)6 when DD completes (XX)9 UTG? Is he slowplaying,
afraid of DD being rolled up, trying to keep his range wide, or what?

I didn't see the hand, but I think the answer is, yes to all three questions.

I suck at Stud8, but seems like an interesting hand:

3rd:
(XX)2 bring-in, calls
(99)9 completes
(XX)K folds
(XX)4 folds
(XX)Q folds
(AA)6 calls

4th:
(XX)28 call
(99)9Q check, call
(AA)64 bet

5th:
(XX)283 tank-call
(99)9Q7 check, raise
(AA)645 bet, re-raise

I'm pretty certain DD called fifth and raised sixth, Captain
07-05-2015 , 04:03 AM
Wait. If DD wins is he still allowed to post here? Or is he banished to stud forums since that will become what he's known for?

ILR, thanks you're right, the hand makes way more sense now --

3rd:
(XX)2 bring-in, calls
(99)9 completes
(XX)K folds
(XX)4 folds
(XX)Q folds
(AA)6 calls

4th:
(XX)28 call
(99)9Q check, call
(AA)64 bet

5th:
(XX)283 call
(99)9Q7 check, call
(AA)645 bet

6th:
(XX)283J tank-call
(99)9Q77 check, raise
(AA)6453 bet, re-raise

Three handed back tomorrow at two.

You were being too loud. Must've had drinks flowing.

Go go go! I'm tired of my friends getting second place in these donkaments. First or third imo... 😉

Seriously DD nice run and good luck!

who's the bringin? looks like he made an error on 4th or 5th. isn't that precisely the spot where you have to release in stud8? i'm relatively new to e, but it looks like he'd be caught between a smoother low draw and a clear high hand.

I think BI was viewed as the live one, but this hand seems close in all spots except DD (99)9.

There was a lot of table talk about Idema's play (AA)6 on raising 3rd, or just smooving on 6th to keep the live one in.

If live one has like A4/A5, is 4th or 6th close?

The two runners up are already in the stands (along with OTR and Gobbo). Maybe they'll get to do a winner's photo today!

Nice run DD. I tried to watch as much of the live stream as I could.

nice run DD!

That makes three runner up finishes for CAZ regs.

I remember a post louie made (in the 90s?) where he called from the hero seat with a 9 or ten high, and the bettor insta-mucked. Louie figured he had discovered a play called the "Muck-Inducing Call."

I still get to make this play a couple of times a year. I only play FL in mix games, but the Muck-Inducing Call is much easier to pull off in smaller NL when you come across guys who are terrified to turn their hands over. They'll make a theatrical stab at the pot on the river, and then muck when you reach for chips. I miss louie, is he still around?
