I think donking the river has merit to ensure a bet goes in vs. Ace hands. Also you might be raised by Kx thinking your bet is Ax, making a bet/call not horrible.

I can't imagine someone betting an ace the whole way is going to check behind once he hits it.

i only see a tight 3bettor having a8s/ato and 55+. i think that's only like 13% of villain's range that you have any immediate fold equity against, and most of those, being pocket pairs, might get stubborn and decide to call down unless a q, j, ace or maybe 9 comes. and the ace high gutshots are always going to the river and still have a good chance of looking you up just because you might have qj.

plus, i pretty much never raise flops hu in a 3bet pots unless i have good reason to anyway.

Yeah I agree with maybe check laise turn? If you don't ever agress with this hand what does your check raise range look like? It's ALL value.

That doesn't make it wrong. If you are playing against someone whose range is showdown bound and gives you very little fold equity, your raising ranges SHOULD be almost all value. And if you have no fold equity, they should be all value unless and until that changes.

You know, some people fold pairs to the fish nut line of check call check raise.

Of course, they live*. Question is can you find them?

I think this is a texture to bluff raise the flop. Because that follows all my perceived value. I probably bluff catch poorly in this spot. When called, some of my perceived value is going to like kc a lot better than bf and bc. So I'm not committed to barreling all my bluffs. I like free cards oop (as long as I don't pay too much to get the them). I dunno where this particular hand fits but that's the game I've learned from those before / better than me.

*I hereby give you a 5 big bet free roll, as follows: you, me, and BK1248 are playing at the same table and you ask him, exactly, "Hey, BK. Can I live?"
