One of the best words of advice someone can give you, PokerDharma, is to not assume the LAGTAG's kid is decapitated when he flats his BB v your open, or his raise after you three bet.
As long as one cbets almost 100%, there's almost no loss proposition.
Not an assumption so much as discounting the likelihood of those hands. I see where you're coming from though.

Why would he value raise JJ?
Why would he pay off w/ JJ after a huge Hollywood on the turn, and river raise?
Hi, this one may be routine but I'm transitioning back to play more limit hold em and this hand has been sticking in my craw a little bit. Villain is a LA pro a little tricky but plays mostly TAG. Only played with villain a couple hours I think they were card dead. I on the other hand had been running like God and was up 40 big bets on the night.
pre flop I'm utg and raise ATdd villain calls from big blind. 4.5 small bets in pot
Flop AA9 rainbow
I bet villain calls 3.25 big bets in pot
Turn 5rainbow no flush draw whatsoever
Villain check raises me.... Your action?

Villain is telling us he has trips or better. Against that range we have 49.9% equity. We cannot raise. He may also have some bluffs which we don't want to fold out. If he is c/r us with worse than trips, there is a good chance he will fold to a reraise. Call, call.
