BvB Hand
Villain in this hand is a random LA Asian. He does things like 3 betting in position for a free card (T94dd-6-5 he can't beat 76dd at showdown after 3 betting flop), and raise ace high for value (I open OTB he calls SB with A6o, flop 997hh he c/r and barrel odd 7-K turn and river). He's not...good.
I open A7ss in the SB. He calls.
KQ4r with one spade
I bet, he raises.
I used to just snap fold here, but now I'm not so sure.

Re: BvB Hand
I'd never fold the flop against the described villain.

Re: BvB Hand
It's not a great flop for your hand, obviously, even against the described villain, though I likes me a backdoor draw in this situation.
But this one looks to me like a Stove problem. We should be able to put this guy on SOME sort of range, right?

Re: BvB Hand
I would fold. He probably doesn't expect you to fold, so I mean maybe he has JT and is raising for a free card, but he also has a pair a lot. And the pot isn't big enough to care about the glory of runner-runner spade.

Re: BvB Hand
i would call if you know when you're good on later streets and when you're not.
in other words you have to be adept at reading and knowing your opponent's play. otherwise it's big RIO problems if you blindly call down bricks.
i think experts can call this flop profitably because they know.

I think you should check the flop. Why would you c bet, get checkraised and then not know what to do? From your description you should be expecting to geg checkraised here a lot.

I was very sure what I would do when raised when I bet this flop. I'm posting this hand to see if others agree

Re: BvB Hand
I'd say against a guy who isn't good and seems aggro, I would call this flop and call any J,10, or spade turn. Also I would check/call and A turn and check/raise a blankish river because this guy seems like he will be spewy on river.

This is not a great post. Actually I'd peel in game speed, come to think of it.

Re: BvB Hand
WTF at folding. You have odds just to spike an ace and get paid off. NVM you just have the best hand a lot.

Re: BvB Hand
Jesse,
What would you estimate villains range to be on the flop, after he raises?
