Bet/Call or Bet/Cry?

20 live. 8 handed. I raise AKo UTG, LAG cold calls second in, she plays sort of taggy, but does bad stuff like cold calling, slow playing, and pot stealing attempts into 5 people with underpairs if flop checks around. Button (TAG with wide range) 3 bets, I cap, all call.

Flop AdKx8d, I bet, LAG calls.

Turn 7r, bet call.

River Qd, I would really like to bet/call here, am I wrong?

I think it is almost impossible to play this spot perfectly out of position against a LAG opponent. I think that once were agree that folding is not an option, in a pot of this size, check call and bet call options are rather close. If you have a read that she likes suicidal river bluff raises in scary boards, bet calling is probably better?

Depends on who it is. If its who I think it is you should bet-call.

Re: Bet/Call or Bet/Cry?

This is a bet/call imo, unless you think there's any likelihood that she's going to value bet a worse hand when you check, which is unlikely, since your hand is basically face up when you bet/bet/check, AND because you're polarizing your bet/bet/bet range (tho in this case that may not matter).

You could argue that if she can hand read at all she knows that your range in this spot is basically AK, AA, KK, QQ and so her raise should be the nuts, but folding top two to lags when scare cards drop is nearly always a mistake, imo (even if, in this particular case, it would be the worst spot in the world to bluff).

You also seem to really like to cap pf oop 3 ways: there's a definite argument to be made for just calling pre here, esp if BTN has a very high cbet%.

Re: Bet/Call or Bet/Cry?

Thanks, everyone, I did bet/call, but wanted a line check.

Now what if river was Jd, and I have AQ. Is it now a check/call? If not, where is the tipping point?

Thanks. Btn does have a high continuation bet percentage, but also a very wide 3 bet range, so I was thinking about picking up more equity preflop from both opponents. Not always true, I could be against AQ and 55, and even though i have an equity edge v. their ranges, but OOP I probably shouldn't put my hand face up for only $4 in extra equity.

I also want to have a wider less predictable 4 bet range multiway, so I've been trying to 4 bet more, but again thanks, I now see how my opportunity to checkraise good boards is worth a lot. In this case I win an extra bet (or more) from Btn, charge LAG an extra bet to draw and possibly induce a 3 bet free card attempt, which occasionally turns into a glorious 4 bet/5 bet/6 bet/7 bet super expensive free card play from these types.

so I need to be situational more, as always.
