Wow!

Not my fav band either, but I love American Idiot. Ya know, people are paying $250 to see Garth Brooks do that exact same thing at Wynn.

I like some modern stuff(particularly The Killers and usually whoever Counting Crows bring on tour with them) but I'm a spaz for 80's rock and metal.

Last weekend I had front row tix for the first time ever. Got a high five from Sebastian Bach and a guitar pic for his guitarist and also from
Cinderella's guitarist.

Don't laugh...it was fun

Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are we gonna do "Stonehenge" tomorrow?

Re: August Low-Content Thread

prob not best place to ask for mix game advice/theory, but ...

40-80 Deuce round, 6 players. UTG limps, all fold to BB, who checks and takes 3. UTG pats, check/bet, BB takes 2 and UTG breaks, takes 1. Check/check. Draws go 1-1, and BB leads, UTG calls. BB announces "8" and rolls hand containing Ace.

UTG says "ace no good this game" and rolls an 86. he then explains to BB that he had mad the same mistake on first draw, and had to toss his ace.

The only read i had on UTG at the time was a hand where he got confused about what draw it was, and decided to just pat face up while his opponent drew twice.

So my question is, how the **** did i lose $9k this week to these guys?

I tend to avoid just telling patients and their families random crap and sounding like I know exactly wtf is going on when I don't since so much medicine is an unexplained array of symptoms that don't fit into any diagnostic box. This is actually tough since many people would rather be lied to than be told "I don't know why your left arm tingles when you eat spaghetti in the afternoon but not in the evening." When I tell them I don't know they often take this as "my doctor sucked."
Reminds me of a guest speaker we had one day in law school:

"Act like you're an expert, unless you're around an actual expert, in which case you should just shut up."

Re: August Low-Content Thread

My Badugi hand from yesterday, I raise with a really rough made J in EP, folded to BB who plays the mixed games tight and she 3bets me, I am confused and call because I really don't know what to do but since I have position it can't be bad. She looks at her hand all confused and draws 2. I pat and bet and she folds. Easy game.

Maybe you play even worse than they do?

I'm going to tell you my theory why I think my results aren't very good playing mix. I'm not as good as I am at hold em and the games have more variance.

This is true. The difference between knowing what are good starting hands and standard strategies, and playing at an expert level, is vast. You cant play an A game if much of your attention is spent assessing your hand strength/draws, you need to really be able to understand how your opponents range affects the value of your hand and strategies in a bunch of different games.

when on my A game i can start to do that, but thats too rare (and you are witness to it).
