The short answer is really virulent influenza strains cause an immune loop (called a cytokine storm I believe) where your immune system dissolves your lungs trying to get rid of the virus. Young people are at the most risk supposedly due to better immune systems. The 1918 flu had similar properties.

I'm a better typist than most average people I know and can do almost the full keyboard w/o looking and here is why:

I went to HS in the days when they had two programs: Trades and college prep. One day in my Junior year I was walking in a section of the HS where I normally wouldn't go and heard a racket of noise. I looked into the classroom and saw a typing class. A typing class w/ 50 girls and 2 guys. Naturally I signed up that same day.

btw: MANUAL typewriters at that.

i once clocked 80 words per minute when i was doing on of the things where you just copy it out of a book. i also made like 3 mistakes or something but that was considered ok i think. i type fast.
