I open j8s on the button, huge fish calls sb, bb folds. Sb is mostly loose passive but bets 100% when checked to. He will raise but I've never seen him go crazy on a big street.
If ever there were a spot to fold trips, this is it. But even at that, you still can't fold. You have the top of your range for hands that call the turn raise.
Plus huge fish find weird times to spaz out. You lose often when you call, but it's not a big mistake to call -- you'll win rarely but still sometimes win, and when you don't you pick up even more info on what hands he plays like this: does he slowplay flopped straights? Does he not c/r flopped flush draws? Does he not c/r flopped two pair? All these questions are answered when you call the river getting 8:1.
does he slowplay flopped straights? Does he not c/r flopped flush draws? Does he not c/r flopped two pair? All these questions are answered on the next episode of Soap
I can find worse hands that he is raising for value (J7s, J6s) so I would call. Given that he probably has some sort of a bluff range, I think this is still a call even though you're probably beaten.
Just as a short aside, do you check behind with <AQ on the turn? What about AK or AQ?
Been really testing my propensity to show down, I'm glad to find this call wasn't out of line even though lately it feels like I never win here. He had the 27 hearts for the scoopzilla.
