30/60 live: Level above / level below
Villain is a 2+2 lurker who should post. Strong LAGTAG.
5-handed with me quite possibly the 4th best player.
Preflop: Herp raises TT, 2 folds, Villain 3b, BB folds, Hero calls.
I just noticed the typo but find it strangely appropriate.
Flop: JT5r
Villain b/3b/c.
Turn: 4 (fd)
Villain c/r, Hero calls down.
I find it hard to believe that Villain doesn't put me on a set or JT on the flop. I didn't 4b preflop, which kind of rules out an overpair. So if he's c/r this turn, he's got JJ, right?
So,
1. Is this a spot where I should either r/c or c the flop to keep my range wide?
2. Am I just leveling myself when I'm pretty sure he's pretty sure I have 2pair+?
3. Folding turn is laughably bad, right? Even if my hand reading analysis is right?

Re: 30/60 live: Level above / level below
1. raise flop
3. never folding at any point.
3 betting the turn every time.. just because he c/r turn doesnt mean he has JJ. he could have AA-QQ, KQ, 55, 44, AJ, or he might have picked up a flush draw on the turn. maybe he is on a complete bluff.

Re: 30/60 live: Level above / level below
Most players in that game (most players everywhere actually), would never 4-bet the flop with a set, so he thinks your range is weaker than it actually is.

I think u should delay at least some of your action here to the turn (esp vs villain, where balance will be important since he is a strong hand/range reader). I would either r/c flop or even just flat call flop, i dont like the flop 4b. After he c/r the turn, his range is basically sets, J10, and probably KK-AA. I would 3b the turn all day.

Re: 30/60 live: Level above / level below
As your number one fanboy, I feel its only appropriate I post.
1) <3 keeping the typo.
2) You. Have. Middle. Set. If he cold-decked you 5-handed, give him the alien chips he has earned. I seem to recall everyone and their mother waits to the turn to fist-pump raise their flopped sets.
Plus you are, like, asian....so of course he gives you no credit for your flop line and check-raised the turn.

Don't like just flatting flop, but 100% agree with the rest.

I agree and would be pretty close to 3 betting the turn.

Grunch. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. First, i probably call the flop 3 bet and raise the turn, but whatever. Second, as played, you still have the second nuts in a 5 handed game. Ahhhhhhhhhh

I also would not 4b pf with the top of ur range. Vs some villains, its fine to go a zillion bets pf or otf cuz they prefer to spew there, but against most reasonable opponents, u should be calling the 3b with 100% of your range imo.

This is true and gets to one of the reasons I think fastplaying on the flop is underrated.

Re: 30/60 live: Level above / level below
More generally, while I understand the argument for GTO/balance in theory, in practice, one of the leaks of "good LAG's" is they put in way too many bets against the top of your range. Which makes callip's line exploitative.
I think the 4 bet on this flop is correct against almost any typical live "good" player.

Re: 30/60 live: Level above / level below
I think you're definitely leveling yourself. I'd follow Obiwang and Captain R's points. If this is who I think it is, I think he can actually get a bit spewy on the big streets, IMHO. After you 4 bet the flop, I personally think it would be a fairly standard call down with AA/KK, but I believe those hands are definitely in his turn c/r range...IF this is who I think it is.
Also your point that you couldn't have an overpair because you didn't 4-bet preflop, heads up ISN'T an assumption that better players are making, imo.

Re: 30/60 live: Level above / level below
can't he spew with stuff like KQ? Seems like this is the board to do it on.

Re: 30/60 live: Level above / level below
Maybe this belongs in the Oaks B&M thread, but also just had to say I think it's pretty amazing you were in a 5-handed Oaks 30 game where you think there were possibly 3 players better than you. I think there are only half a dozen good players TOTAL in that game's pool. Bad game selection...or bad player reads? lol
