This question always gets the stupidest advise .... professionall equity trader and other equally stupid advise (that often borders on outright fraud).
I'm sure this is the wrong approach by I would just say I was self employed as a professional poker player, and try to explain that it was simply to profitable to work a job rather than play poker. I'd even offer to let them look over my tax returns over the past years to try and show that it's not to different than somebody else running their own business and hope they can st least somewhat understand that I took a professional approach to it and merely took advantage of prime market opportunities.
Sadly, I feel like I could easily convince someone why they should hire me, but would likely be unable to get that chance given the would be glaring holes in my resume
