What to do with my VIP points on Carbon Poker

What should I do with them? I have about 2,300. I'm on the wind tier. Does it make sense to exchange them for cash? They offer $7 per 1000 vip points. Is there a reason I should be holding on to them? Better deals?

Thanks in advanced!

Are you on rakeback? If so, the only choice is to use them to enter certain tournaments. Even though rb players see tiers that do not apply, I guess you may be on VIP with that tier. In that case exchange them for cash unless you feel that you would have some sort of advantage using them for tournaments.

No rackback. Well Carbon gives me 7% rakeback at this time. If I move up tiers, then I would get more rakeback. Well I guess I'll have to check the overall value of the VIP points in tournaments compared to the value in cash.

If you don't earn 25,000 VIP points per month or more, you are better off on the rakeback program than the VIP program at Carbon poker.

A good affiliate would have told you this. Although affiliates make more money off of clients who are placed in the improper program in this particular type of situation, and thus, some decide not to mention it.... Or maybe you simply work with one of the big, impersonal firms

Well isn't too late to sign up for rakeback with an affiliate? Carbon poker doesn't allow it anymore I believe.

Carbon does allow it. Email them and request it. Spend your points before asking.

You don't need an affiliate for rakeback. Carbon pushed Merge to reinstate RB, and it was put back on as of June 1st 2012!

Pokeraddict is correct about your points but didn't tell you why. The points will be zero'd out when swapping from RB to VIP or vice versa.

Great! Now I'm pretty excited. This is really good news.

Sorry for all the questions! When I request rakeback, do I have to say who I'd like to get rakeback from? Like deucescracked has a program I believe... Or it doesn't work that way? Do I just say "I'd like rakeback on my account"? That's it?

You've already played for real money. Your account is already tagged to an affiliate (or directly to Carbon). You can not change this. Affiliates do not give you rakeback by the way. Merge gives you rakeback. Any affiliate giving you rakeback would be giving you an illegal deal that could result in a massive fine for the room involved. It's a huge no no on Merge (thanks Lock!).

Just email support and tell them you want to be on the rakeback program. It will take a few days most likely.
