Rakeback Returning to Merge Gaming

Merge Gaming will bring back rakeback to players that missed the chance before June 1st last year.

Mod note for others - I did not write the article although their parent company is one of my content buyers. They broke the story and this is the only link bouncing around Twitter about it this morning.

Merge re-introducing rakeback?

Read on the rpm section and in the 'lock buys cake thread' that Merge is re-introducing rakeback to new and existing accounts soon. I feel like Merge is saying to Lock, "don't let the door hit ya on the way out!"

If some players on on the fence about whether to stay with a Merge skin or move over with Lock, this will definitely help. The merge software is infinity times better than cake and is one of the main reasons I moved my money off Lock.

Looks like 35% RB and up to a "equivalent" of 50% if you use points to buy in to tournies and such. I read some member say that because Lock is leaving the merge network and accounts for a big chunk of the player pool, they are in big trouble. I couldn't help but laugh at that.

Thoughts? Apparently you'll have a choice between RB and Vip.

Here's the link before someone asks...

Just figured we could get this out on the main page.

Re: Rakeback Returning to Merge Gaming

I think its great they decided to do this, but I dont really understand the 60 day rule.

What exactly is the purpose of this rule?

And wouldnt it make sense for this rule to be waived for Lock players who are grandfathered in to rakeback deals?

If they want to make themselves more competitive and keep as many players as possible on the network, seems like a bad idea to make them wait two months to get their rakeback back.

Since Lock won't be on the Merge Network anymore as of June 1st, those "previous" accounts would not count as active rakeback anymore either and thus the 60 days rule would not come into effect.
