Hi,

did pokerstars change its VIP program in Denmark in order to balance the license fee+tax?

I'm asking because a very similar regulation has been introduced in Hungary as well and I'm wondering what should I expect when PS buys license here.

Thanks

Hi JimmyVulm3r,

Great question, these kind of things are only going to become more relevant as more countries regulate (which looks likely). As this interests me personally I have emailed Stars myself about this and await a response. I will of course keep you updated as and when I know more.

Cheers,

The Danish players have the same promotions as the rest of the world, almost. There have been some talk about the xxx mill hand promotion is not valid in Denmark, because the goverment see the promotion as pure luck and then its not legal. However last time the promo run the danish players could still participate.

The biggest changes is that players in Denmark cant transfer funds or T$, and then some small changes about verification.

And the VIP program is almost the same, same value.

It seems that your suspicions are correct and that Stars has changed their VIP program in Denmark in order to offset the license fee and tax.

"In general, rewards that are given to customers in licensed and unlicensed markets are based upon the costs that are incurred in those markets." Poker Stars

I hope that helps,

Regards,

Tom

So...is that good or bad?
I don't see how the VIP program has changed.
Plus the rake in the games is still 10% and the winnings tax free.
Any info would be appreciated.

The only thing changed is that some promotions are not running for danish players like milestone hand etc that used to be seen as luck and then not valid for danish players. They have talked about finding a solution to this, but if they managed to do it im not sure.

Erebgil_bg
NO .fr and winamax are not banned for danish players and you are allowed to play there as they have license in EU.
