prop players online

Anyone use this idea where the get a higher % of there RB back to sit in games that are not ideal close to breaking, has anyone looked into the various options, only reason I ask is im starting in gash games $1/2 online and obv the better the deal i get for myself the better my profits should be assuming that Im not moving to short handed tables full of sharks.

Any one suggest sites with info on what i can earn expect

But seriously google is your friend. There are a few reputable propping sites out there.

Like you said, game conditions will usually be hu or shorthanded. Seating and limit rules can be restrictive. Gl.

Propping: I did it for a number of years and made good 6 figures off of it. You play almost exclusively HU/super short handed at most sites though, so you may have a trial by fire in that regard.

It has been a long time since I looked into propping, but Part Time Poker has been around for a long time:

Hi pot$slammer,

It's great that you're considering high levels of RB to increase your profit. It shows you're a thinking player, but in actual fact it doesn't always work out that easily =)

The more rakeback players get, the less money poker rooms have to market their product. The rooms with the higher RB and more aggressive VIP programs typically have a worse offering than those with lower ones.

Look through 3 of the biggest rooms in online poker (Maybe some people will see what I've done here, bit cheeky)

* Pokerstars: VIP Program
* PartyPoker: VIP Program
* 888Poker: VIP Program

A guesstimate here would be that the average return, for completely typical player across these three rooms would be between 10 - 20%.

As you travel further down the poker traffic rankings you will notice that deals get progressively better.

In the mid-zone we have people like Merge, Revolution & IGT who offer flat RB of 30 - 40% with promotions on top, often resulting in a player's return being in excess of 60%.

Finally, as we arrive at the bottom we get the prop sites.

Whilst one poster in this thread mentioned they had profited 6 figures from propping over a few years, it's really not so easy and I'm sure they've seen a lot of people come and go in their time.

You're almost always going to be playing on a site with almost zero traffic and as pointed out will always have to play short handed games. No table selection and I'm not convinced the opposition will be that soft either.

My suggestion would be to post a Rakeback Request (find out what 2+2's Advertising Affiliates have to offer you) or post exactly what you're looking for in this thread. If it's to maximise your edge, then you should get in line as that's a question that lots of people have different opinions on and there is no clear answer.

Anyway hope this helps and good luck with everything!

Jamie

Re: prop players online

Thanks Jamie, tbh I want a site that will reward a player, ie ill give you a example PKR has various levels of vip, where the only reward i can gather is a better bday gift along with tickets to events, now I dont mind MTT but im looking to play cash so this doesnt appeal.

Pokerstars is good in the sense that I can start on cash and earn a 2Xmultiplier and so on that will acrue the points so I can use there store, but they dont do RB as such as its cashing in points for money.

So in essence I wish to find a site that offers a store where I can get gifts for points kinda rewarding my grind at the end of the year, traffic is not my main concern I wish to create a brand loyalty and be feared on a site so I can do say 4 tables daily 5 - 8 hours a day at my chosen level.

Proping would give me in some cases 110% of my rake bk but on a small site, where as merge/lock has US players which will be much harder to profit imo for a smaller return and im assuming they dont have stores or ways to redeem my points

Re: prop players online

Hi pot$lammer,

Glad I could be of some help.

Based on what you've said above a good place for you is either going to be on Microgaming or Party. Both have relatively aggressive VIP programs / rakeback, stores, fairly soft games and are decent brands.

If you need anything else or have any deeper questions just post!

Jamie

Re: prop players online

Don't expect to get many 100%+ rakeback deals these days. Most will still give you near 100% though. Since they don't require you to play a certain amount of hands to get propping rakeback percentage, you can sign up with a few sites and see how it goes from there. If it isn't as good as you hoped, cash out and play somewhere else.

Cheers,
Stefan

Re: prop players online

Are some good prop deals on rakemeback.com.But the problem is there is not to much traffic to play on.

As Jamie said is better to just complete the "rakeback request".You would be satisfied %100 with their affiliate offers.

I'm sure that these high percentage propping deals do still exist. You just won't be able to find one on a site that has high traffic, it's about deciding whether it is worth the sacrifice.

Regarding Microgaming, the best advice that anyone can give you is to stick with the established skins. There are plenty of them - Ladbrokes, Stan James, Unitbet etc. You want to find a room where you can feel secure at all times.

I hope this was of help.

Re: prop players online

I always liked and like playing against the best (at lower levels) as long as I don't need to worry about the rake. But the rakebacks are not so good anymore and not too many players - often none - are willing to play another prop heads up and even fuller, and many times such is not even allowed. The heads up rakeback should be a minimum of 100% and then get less as the players get more and then there would be a better possibility to find enough aggressive players ready to kill each other(s), though not that I have seen that to be the usual case but it too happens and is what I really have always loved doing, it being the opposite of always needing to find the easier games because of the rake and then not get practise for higher games in case one even can beat that caliber of players - and such players don't prop low limits or even medium limits. Getting tough competition would be nice and a challenge and should be more popular than it is, and should be supported. Though I am worried about the safety of my money at many (at all) sites these days.
