Improved Tell-A-Friend Conditions

Today, December 6, the changes in our Tell-A-Friend conditions become active!

The changes in a nutshell:
New payout tiers - up to $500 per referred member.
10% sub-affiliation - i.e. if you bring someone who in turns brings in members, you get 10% of his or her commissions.
10% revenue share on subscriptions in our points shop. Active for all referred members from November 1.

Qualitative Assessment

Overall, the changes are be a big improvement for most referrers:

• Referring other affiliates now makes sense, as you get a 10% share on their commissions.
• Bringing more experienced players with a higher average player value is rewarded much more than before.
• Bringing only players that reach the first tier ($3-6 rake) on the free $50 bankroll is now not rewarded anymore.
• We calculated the new tiers for all players referred in 2010 and found that in average, referrers would have earned 20% more on the new tiers - even ignoring the 10% 2nd level and the 10% subscription revenue share.
• Finally, there's an opportunity to advertise PokerStrategy.com to U.S. players - the 10% subscription revenue share.

What is the Gemstone Promotion?

Earn Gemstones, get cash!
This VIP promotion is exclusive to PokerStrategy.com and runs throughout the whole of 2012. The objective is simple: earn Gemstones for each 7,500 StrategyPoints you generate per month at one of our participating rooms.

Why do certain sites (such as William Hill Poker) give more strategy points (5 SP per 1$ rake) than others?

Hey elusive,

The differences can mostly be explained by how much playing on a certain site / how much 1$ Rake contributes to PokerStrategy.com in terms of funding for all our content, services, events and promos.

Of course, we want everyone to be able to earn enough SP to get the right status (e.g. It should be easy to get Gold with NL100). But inside a certain range, we give more SP where the $ Rake pays more Cents on our costs.

Hey I am interested in watching HS plo vids (from people like Insyder and Jeans). Do I have to pay for diamond membership ($1000 for 3 months). If so that sounds ludacris to me.

while the Diamond Status can in principle be bought, the default way to get it is by playing tracked through one of our partner poker rooms: http://www.pokerstrategy.com/online-poker-rooms/

Note that the reason why we are putting such a high price tag for "buying" (as opposed to playing for it) Diamond/Platinum is in order to keep the group of players who have it small and exclusive. We did not want to have a lot of Diamond members who would not naturally belong to that group based on their poker skills.

How do I collect Gemstones?
