PlayersOnly and Sportsbook To Move to Merge PlayersOnly and Sportsbook To Move to Merge

The Merge network released the following press release overnight announcing that Players Only and Sportsbook (among other brands) will move across from the Cake Network to the Merge Network:

(Dublin, Ireland) Wednesday, 3 February 2010

Merge Gaming today announced that Jazette Enterprises the controller of www.sportsbook.com, will join their growing poker network by mid April 2010.

Merge Gaming the designer, developer and licensor of software to the international online poker industry, today announces it has successfully agreed to migrate the online poker gaming activities of Jazette Enterprises to the Merge Gaming platform.

The deal will see the group's brands; sportsbook.com, playersonly.com and superbook.com move their poker operations to the Merge Gaming platform. It is expected all players will be seamlessly transferred over to the Merge Gaming platform by mid April 2010.

Anthony Taylor, Chief Executive Officer of Merge Gaming, said:

"This is an industry changing deal and we are delighted to have come to an agreement with Jazette Enterprises. This deal will bring massive liquidity to the network and see the online poker industry landscape change overnight. We are delighted to sign such an established partner to the network, it's through our great software and superior back end we are able to attract a group of this size to the network.

A spokesperson for Jazette Enterprises, added:

"Our goal is to provide our players with the best poker experience possible which is why we decided to make this move," said Roger Whitaker, a spokesperson for Jazette Enterprises. "We're confident that our players will enjoy the ground breaking features, generous loyalty rewards program and improved overall playability that Merge's poker software provides."

"With the same dedicated team behind us, players can rest assured that our new poker offering comes with the same steadfast adherence to player protection, security and fairness we have been providing since 1996," says Whitaker.
There are currently conflicting reports regarding how deep the relationship between Jazette Enterprises and the Merge Network goes but if it is more than skin deep then a movement of the brands would be a no brainer.

As far as rakeback goes on the Cake Network, we understand that players who had rakeback on either Sportsbook or PlayersOnly will be allowed to get rakeback on a new Cake Skin, though when exactly the change will happen is unclear at this time.

As far as races and rakeback on PlayersOnly etc is concerned, hopefully both sides have common sense enough to make the change for the 1st day of a month, rather than midway through!

As soon as we have more information we will post it here, but if you have any questions in the mean time please feel free to email our support.

Kind regards

Update:

1stly there is no change for rakeback players at the moment and existing PlayersOnly will continue to get 33% rakeback as normal as well as be eligible for any races/chases they are involved in.

People who have PlayersOnly rakeback are however immediatelyeligible to sign up for another Cake Skin to get rakeback.

Choose wisely people...it's like a jungle sometimes it makes me wonder....
There's Cake, Doyles, Power and RedStar to name but just a few.

Best wishes

This is a good question. Our Gold Stacks too.
I will be curious if we get decent value if they are converted onto Merge, or if we should use them up before April.
02-04-2010 , 04:16 PM
If we continue to play on Players Only past April then we will lose our rakeback on that skin through TITN?

I see on TITN's website that it offers rakeback for Merge players. Will the rakeback not transfer if we continue to play on Players?
02-04-2010 , 04:25 PM
and if I win my nba futures bet in late april merge will honor it right?

All good questions...We will try and find out as much as possible. We dont believe your sportsbook bet will be affected by this though

It is unlikley that PlayersOnly will cease rakeback when it moves. Only TITN can say whether they will continue to promote PO, but even if they chose not to, neither they nor PO would deprive you of your rakeback if you continued to play there. So nothing to worry about on that front.

More answers as we get them about Gold Chips and Cards and Stacks...but dont expect fast answers as this stuff has almost certainly not been decided yet.

Kind regards

Have a bad feeling about what will happen with the gold chips/gold cards when they move and of course I have an A of Hearts gold card on Player's Only that I've never had a chance to redeem. Would love to be able to transfer my gold cards to another Cake account.

I see the Greek is a Cake skin for poker. Anyone offer rakeback for them?

Their support at Players Only told me they would convert our chips and cards into VIP points on Merge. I wouldn't expect much for them.

I also asked them if they had considered letting us transfer our chips and cards to another skin. They ignored that question.

RAKETHERAKE,

Is it true that the Merge sites pay rakeback based on contributing to the pot, unlike Cake where we get rakeback as long as we are sitting at the table?

Hey DT

Yes the rake calculation for Merge is weighted contributed as we understand

Rake per person is determined by your actual contribution to the pot.

So if you put $10 in to a $60 pot, you will be attributed 1/6th of the rake.

I hope that helps but please feel free to contact us here or directly if you have any more questions

Kind regards

I don't think they offer RB on TheGreek skin, but they also own PokerWorld.com, which is also on Cake network and does offer rakeback thru a variety of affiliates.

RAKETHERAKE,

I currently have a sports betting account at Sportsbook.com
Will it be possible for me to make a rakeback Sportsbook.com poker account after they join the Merge network?

Hi Pokerkai

As yet we are uncertain what the plans are after the merger however we will definitely be promoting PlayersOnly on the site.
Aside from that the plans are not finalised.

Raketherake,

This doesn't exactly have to do with the merge but...

I have been playing Sportsbook as my primary site for quite awhile now without rakeback (throwing away about $600/month), and it's really about time that I find out if it's possible to get rakeback despite having an existing account. Can you provide me with info on that?

Thanks very much,

Neonclaws

Neonclaws,

When Sportsbook moved to the Merge network you will have a wealth of options to choose from.

Carbon, Poker Nordica, Reefer Poker, and many more that will all offer you 30% rakeback for your play.

Regards,

Tim

NeonClaws. You really don't want rakeback at the cake network bud. The gold stack program is more lucrative for non-rakeback accounts. Go over to bonuswhores.com for a breakdown. The simple fact is that non-rakeback accounts earn more.

Sorry but I don't think that is true. Please point me to exactly where it says that on Bonuswhores.

well....look at the charts. it starts to become even rakeback at level 18 as you earn 40% rakeback through the non-rakeback gold stack program and the same amount with rakeback. at level 25 with rakeback and gold stack you are earning a combined 39.7 rakeback. at level 25 of the non-rakeback gold stack program you earn 48.6 equivalent rakeback. when you combine that with the fact that you earn gold chips twice as fast (so you get twice as much in the rewards store) and that you can participate in rake races and other rewards with affiliates it becomes a no brainer. just look at level 30...you get 62.1 percent through the non-rakeback gold stack program compared to 41 percent with the rakeback gold stack program. thats a huge difference....and level 30 is a reasonable milestone to hit for even a casual player at some point. in the long run its way way better.

Raketherake,

Sorry but I am horribly ignorant as to how skins and networks and whatnot work. Basically, do I sign up with Carbon, or Nordica, or whatever in a couple months, and then have access to all the same games I am playing at Sportsbook now?

Ginobli,

Looking at the breakdown at bonuswhores it appears that even if you always got the "super turbo" reward it would max out at about 21% rakeback. Considering how often I would actually make superturbo and how long it takes to work your way up the levels I'd be looking at well under 10% pretty much forever, unless I'm missing something.

neon...you are looking at the wrong chart. here you go:

scroll down to the bottom to see the rakeback equivalent chart.

Ginobli,

Looking here: http://www.bonuswhores.com/poker-for...7.html#p279057 I see level 25 on super turbo as generating 6.7% rakeback...
