Petition to Stop FTP from cutting affiliates %

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/51...ns-3-a-718902/

Ok guys,

Apparently this will be happening soon. Currently, many affiliates get 35%. This will make them get 30% total instead.

What happens then?

1) All sub-affiliates are cut out
2) No refer-a-friend
3) Rake races will be dramatically reduced
4) Prizes or bonuses on top of rakeback from affiliate will be reduced.

Basically, instead of getting 8% the affiliates get 3%. Sure, many say that its fair because affiliates don't deserve that much. But realize, FTP is only losing you money. You lose in rake races and everything else affiliates provide. The extra % from FTP is the thing keeping these races and such going. You will be stuck with a flat 27% and no incentives, so Pokerstars will be beating FTP's percents by much more than it already is.

Petition to stop them from doing this starts now.

Could this be a way for FTP to free up money for the new rewards system?

Not sure. I know that most affiliates don't make 3% total, because of rake races and everything else they offer. If they get cut to 3% tops, most will not be offering any incentives.

It is hard to imagine that this can be good for the players.

Yes

I would assume regardless you will be seeing less incentives.

Seeing as how FTP's rakeback % doesn't approach Stars yet, they could easily introduce a real rewards program without taking the 5%. Taking the 5% just pisses off everyone and leads to less incentive programs

Thats the problem. Most of them pay out a crapload in rake races and such. Most are only making 2-3% total because of sub affiliates and rake races.

The rake races and freerolls will be cancelled, is what will happen.

Re: Petition to Stop FTP from cutting affiliates %

Sorry, 8% for affiliates seems ridiculous, imo. Who cares about rake races and freerolls?

If Fulltilt is paying 5% less to affiliates that just gives them more room to improve their rewards system for players. Not saying they will, but it gives them more flexibility to do so.

I'm sorry for the hit to your business and everything, but I am just kind of disgusted to learn how much my rake provider has made off of me over the last several years.

no kidding . . . the only reason i don't play at fulltilt is b/c I have an affiliate supposedly and can't get rakeback. I can't even find out who he or she is to contact them and I've never received a penny from this person/entity/banner I clicked on.

Just fyi --

I've pointed out quite a bit that they don't make the percent. They have staff to give you good support, payouts, and incentives. Instead, they will cut all this. You will instead get FTP support for things, and almost no support from your affiliates. If you think FTP is going to give you more for your money than affiliates, think about supply and demand. FTP and Stars have a stranglehold on the poker market. They don't have a bunch of competition willing to take 1% to make anything they can. Both FTP and Stars will continue making billions.

Its funny that people are mad at affiliates for giving good service, and incentives above what FTP normally allows. Instead they would rather have the money go to FTP, who has horrible service and is a huge billion dollar company who is going to give far less return for the %. This 5% will simply disappear from the poker economy.

This move will only lead to more of this behavior...
