Of course they can.

Nor did anyone tell you that the guy at the <fill in a type of merchandise> store you bought your last <fill in a product> from was going to make money from the amount you paid.

Good for you. Like in many other industries, poker sites and affiliates are under no such obligation.

IANAL, but I think I'm pretty safe in saying no, there isn't.

Well, they don't seem to have left in droves yet. But yes, that's your prerogative, of course. And probably what you should be doing rather than wasting your time considering lawsuits.

Agreed.

Like I said in my last post, it would probably be smart to find a way to satisfy customers like you. But to think this is somehow grounds for a lawsuit is laughable IMO.

Just go play somewhere else.

Re: Fulltilt finally offers 'rakeback' to affiliate accounts?

Totally agree with you Bobo. This is why competition is good for business. Eventually Cake Poker and UB might actually figure out that if they re-invest their money into a solid software development team like FTP and PS have done, they will be able to grab a bigger piece of the market. It is still beyond me how sites can't figure out how to make software people want to play on like FTP/PS. This is a BILLION dollar industry...how can you not realize that you need to re-invest your profits to keep growing or even just stay afloat.

I guarantee you that when more companies upgrade their software and give FTP a run for their money, this policy will change VERY quickly. Since their volume of players is INCREASING by the day, they have no incentive to give any of us rakeback or help us out. Most of you probably are saying "well I'm never going to play there again!" but actually do play there. Just do yourselves a favor and play on Stars for the time being. Customer service is 2nd to none (not even close) and software makes multi-tabling a breeze.

Re: Fulltilt finally offers 'rakeback' to affiliate accounts?

I've carried out my threat and left Full Tilt. Have withdrawn my whole roll (over $1000) and they will miss out on approximately $300-$400 rake a month while I'm not there. Unfortunately probably only a drop in the ocean to full tilt but out of principle it makes me feel good to have done this.
I'm not a fan of pokerstars software but it will have to do for now!

Re: Fulltilt finally offers 'rakeback' to affiliate accounts?

i agree with you guys about in being real anti-player to grant it to certain persons while other have to miss out on the offer, for me i got the bonus a couple of weeks ago and i changed back from PS to FT because of the bonus, i was a relatively new player on FT and generated not that much rake so i don't get why i got the bonus, i did send them a couple of mails requesting rakeback
but i'm really gratefull they granted it to me.
anyways my question is, is this a one time offer or will they give out these bonuses every year? or will they change to a rakeback program in the course of this year which comes from FT?

no offense to you, but wtf full tilt?? players that generate thousands a month in rake get shafted and you offer 10k to players who barely even play??? let me guess, you own pokerstars as well, since all of the people you're shafting here are going over there to play...this is the only logical idea given the attitude of not caring if players are leaving their site. so much for customer development....

Re: Fulltilt finally offers 'rakeback' to affiliate accounts?

VG - i see what you are saying. i think from a business perspective someone like myself or you play daily on FTP so giving us the bonus may increase our play a little (or may not at all), but giving the bonus to someone like snWhy gets him to switch from PS to FTP, which obv is a big difference from FTP perspective (ie rake). once i clear my IM year end bonus, FTP will get much less of my play and Cake will get probably >75% of my play.

Re: Fulltilt finally offers 'rakeback' to affiliate accounts?

Hilarious posts, 'Why won't Fulltilt give me rakeback so unfair, Im leaving as soon as ive cleared my ironman, $1k bonus, $10k bonus, FTOPS challenges, leaderboard prizes and happy hours' lol way to commit!
If you're still regularly playing there, what sane business would give you 27% of their income back?

Cake and Cereus offer 33% and 30%, quick payouts, good customer service, ok traffic, Cereus have great gaming software, redstarpoker offers visa payouts and are both fish ponds so I honestly can't see why anyone's hanging around for 27% RB at a site renound for it's tough players and unfair bonuses.

Seriously consider making the switch cos gettin paid $400-600/month instead of a free friken T-shirt makes all the difference to your role when grinding low and medium stakes.

Yessir, they don't come much more reputable and reliable than Cereus.

Re: Fulltilt finally offers 'rakeback' to affiliate accounts?

Ye your right, atleast the big sites rob you in broad daylight. I coulda got $7k rakeback last year and what have I got to show for it? 5 jumpers, 2 T-shirts and an mp3 player. Frankly I'd take a millions to 1 chance of getting cheated for a few hundred bucks over 1 to 1 chance of losing $7k every year.

Sorry to deviate from the thread slightly but it sux there's talented players breaking even without a clue how extortionate the rake is. Cake's record is unblemished and Cereus has patched it's software problems and is probably the closest monitored site by the poker community, also regulated by the same company as Fulltilt.

Trust me, as soon as you get that 33% rakeback in your account every month, you'll realise who the real cheats are.
