No more rakeback at 888?! No more rakeback at 888?!

I just got this email from my affiliate:

"Pacific Poker's (888) board of directors and ownership has decided to END ALL RAKEBACK deals effective April 1st. We have tried very hard to negotiate with them to allow all players with existing rakeback deals to keep them. Unfortunately they have decided that no player shall have rakeback anymore on the network.

We regret to inform you that as of April 1st your account on Pacific will no longer receive rakeback. Rakeback for March however will paid as usual so there is nothing to worry about.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Also please let us know if you would like a deal on a different network, or alternatively please contact your affiliate!"

WTF?

Hi Ryan,

888Poker don't have rakeback. Cashback is paid via a VIP system.

Most affiliates will no longer receive player rake stats and I believe some are no longer receiving rev share on new players. Instead they will be paid a CPA.

If you were receiving some money under the table from your affiliate it is likely this will no longer be possible, but I don't think this was ever sanctioned by 888 so I doubt your affiliate has been attempting to negotiate this point with their board of directors.

Maybe your deal was grandfathered, but I never knew these existed at 888?

Interested to hear more,

Jamie

Yep these deals have actually all been sanctioned by 888/Pacific from deals going back 3/4/5/6/7 years. But new rakeback has been less prolific in recent years.

In addition the skins on 888 have been offering this stuff for years and right up to recent months before 888 took over most of the brands.

Best wishes

Just to understand here - 888/Pacific allowed players to sign up for rakeback as opposed to other deals that were out there years ago, but then has decided to renege on those deals and no longer allow it, even though the players have held to the terms of the agreement?

Sadly, it appears that way.

Who is saying that?

The room cant have written that as they wouldn't offer you a deal on another network...and the affiliate cant have written that as he wouldn't say please contact your affiliate.

Something doesn't add up there...

Kind regards

Johnny

He said he got the email from his affiliate. They probably were saying they could get him a rakeback deal on another network that has rakeback.

Very disappointed, it's like they don't care about their loyal customer base anymore.

So if I would like to sign at 888 right now, should I look for some affiliate to get at least some rake races/etc. or is it indifferent and I can just go to 888 site?

Why would you give up on those? Always better to go with an affiliate.

For most people on 2+2 who are purely looking at the value they can get back from the poker room, it is always better to sign up with an affiliate.

It's quite rare the value is direct, but even for rooms like 888 affiliates offer some pretty nice extras.

Hi Daveacek,

If you're from the UK, why don't you look into WSOP? It's a skin owned by the 888 network that is exclusive for UK based players and quite rewarding.

Alternatively, try posting a Rakeback Request and find out what 2+2's Advertising Affiliates have to offer you.

Hope this helps,

Jamie

Is it possible to get a boost in vip right from the start at 888 if i can show them my pokerstars vip level is high? I remember party poker was doing it back in time.
