Hi,

A few years ago I signed up to Pokerstars.

I was naive at the time and did not know better but I signed up through an affiliate site Pokerstrategy using a friend of mine's link that he provided.

I would play X amount of hands and the friend would get a portion of bonuses up to $500.

I am no longer friends with this person and there is a further $250 in bonuses outstanding should I continue to play on the site, due to the principle I won't let him get $250 for nothing.

I have contacted both Pokerstars and Pokerstrategy to get this affilate linked to my account stopped/cancelled. Both stars and strategy have shifted blame to one another and both have in so many words refused to stop the affilate link attached.

My question is there a way for the affilate to be removed from my Pokerstars account? What can I do? Thanks.

You can never get an affiliate removed from an account if you used one at any legit poker site. It would violate the T&Cs of the affiliate agreement.

Is there no way to get it removed?

I dont want the other person receiving the bonus any longer.

What can I do?

Thanks.

The only thing to do is stop playing at PokerStars. You mention "few years ago" in the post. If it was more than two years ago he isn't getting paid on your action anymore. PokerStars only pays rev share for two years.

Thank you for getting back to me Pokeraddict it is appreciated.

What do you mean only two years? (24 months)?

Yes, it has been atleast 3 years since the signup/affiliation was done.

Of the $500 that was on offer. Pokerstrategy has paid out $250 to the person that referred me.

The amount in question is the remaining $250 on offer which he will supposedly get once I have played X amount more hands.

So, knowing that information can you confirm that the "deal" expires after 2 years (24 months). Do you have a specific link or source?

Where can I get official confirmation of this, I would assume Pokerstars? How would I pose my question though?

Thanks for your time, if this is true you would have literally made my day!

The PokerStars affiliate change was well pub!I fixed. Here is the general idea.

http://www.onlinepokerreport.com/168...ogram-changes/

I'm not sure how your affiliate would know your raked hands or get paid if you got untagged unless they have some sort of agreement contrary to the T&Cs. I know many affiliates that sent them traffic and none got the term waived when it changed. This is why you don't see PokerStars promoted very often anymore. Affiliates feel like they got scammed.

In response to you:

The affiliate in question is PokerStrategy.

I would need to play X amount of hands and the person that refered me would get bonuses based on raked hands up to $500. Currently $250 is outstanding if I continue to play more raked hands.

This was done in March 2013 when I signed up. According to the article the bonus should now be null and void? Is that correct?

How do I go about finding out? Contact Pokerstrat or Pokerstars?

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP SO FAR!

Contact either one. They should both tell you the answer. Make sure you quote that article so you don't get a canned response.

It is proving difficult man very difficult.

Contacted both sites.

Pokerstars are referring me to Pokerstrategy.

Pokerstrategy are saying that it is LIFETIME and in addition to that I have recently become aware that the player that referred me is now banned on Pokerstars yet Pokerstrategy still insist he will receive the bonus, how is that even possible if he isnt even on Pokerstars database anymore (banned? )

if you don't tick the information sharing box, you won't be able to receive StrategyPoints for playing at PokerStars, and hence your referrer won't get rewards for your activity at this poker room.

Got this message from Pokerstrategy today.

Does this mean that if I dont tick the information sharing box on pokerstars then the referrer wont get the remaining $250 that he could still get by me playing raked hands? Please confirm this.

Thanks.

Hi,

MY QUESTION: So, if I dont tick the information sharing box and I play raked hands on Pokerstars, the referrer will not receive any of the $250 bonus that he could still potentially get with my activities.?

Please confirm this.

POKERSTRATEGY RESPONSE:

Thanks for your question.

Yes, your referrer will not receive bonuses for your play at this case.

Thanks for understanding.

MY QUESTION TO YOU:

Maybe my English not so good but does this mean that so long as I leave this information sharing box unticked the person that referred me through Pokerstrategy will not be able to get any bonuses from me playing raked hands?

Thanks for your time whoever replies to this.
