Thumbs down Winner poker misleading $100 no deposit bonus offer

I am getting pretty tired of these bonus offers that are misleading, i open my email and i get this bonus offer

i downloaded winner poker software to check this out even though i knew this was to good to be true and of course my account is $0. i ask online support how to get this bonus and they say it is in pending status and i have to collect 350 points each time to get $5 of the $100,,,,the thing is my account is $0 and this is no deposit offer so how can i get this with out making a deposit. they offer me $1.20 tournament ticket

I get this email that says ( we see that you haven't visited the tables at Winner Poker in a while. So, to get you back playing we are offering you a No Deposit Bonus of: $100 ) and after a little chat with the online support i kindly ask them to close my account and don't send me any more emails in the future

I'm getting sick and tired of these misleading emails that look so good and than always turn out to be something else,,why don't they just offer $1.000.000 No Deposit Bonus and than make people collect 350 points for each $5 of the $1.000.000 that is in pending status and also this bonus expires after 3 months,,,and in the email there was no terms and conditions link for this bonus, when i get bonuses i check that first

Re: Winner poker misleading $100 no deposit bonus offer

It's still a no deposit bonus.

They don't say they are offering you a cash bonus.

Sure if you don't want the emails unsubscribe but I don't see why it's an issue.

Angry Re: Winner poker misleading $100 no deposit bonus offer

yea but they say in the email that they want to get me back playing and if my account is $0 what will i do with a no deposit bonus of $100 that has a pending status that i have to collect points to get, do you not agree with me that this is misleading,,,,im not saying they are liars it just sounds to me that they are offering me $100 there to get me back playing but than when i check my account i got $100 in pending status that i have to collect points to get,,i have to make a deposit to get this bonus so,,,i think it's very annoying to get emails like this and also they did not put terms and conditions in the email so i pretty much had to download the software again and log in to check this out,,,this is what they could have sent instead: Hi, here is $100 no deposit bonus for you that is in pending status so if your account balance is $0 you have to make a deposit to get this

Re: Winner poker misleading $100 no deposit bonus offer

Don't get me wrong dengsi, I completely understand your frustration. I just don't think the poker room have done anything wrong.

They have said you've been given a no deposit bonus and you have - it's there in your account. They'll have given a bunch of these bonuses out to players who have been inactive. All of the players who have a few dollars left will be able to make use of the bonus without further deposit. Unfortunately you can't because you happen not to have any funds. I'm not sure that means the site misled you. You really do have that bonus. Maybe they should distinguish players who have a zero balance so that people such as yourself and someone else who started a thread recently wouldn't be annoyed.

If you played some freerolls and won you'd be able to start clearing that bonus without having to make a deposit just like they said.

Unless something is described as a cash bonus I would never expect it to be available funds.

How can you defend them? Legally I'm sure you're spot on but it's totally misleading , end of.
Keep hassling them imo, you'll get the $100 eventually unless they are tin pot, which they prob are.

Re: Winner poker misleading $100 no deposit bonus offer

I definitely don't see the problem. You thought they were just going to give you $100? Having it pending is pretty standard, Titan do it all the time if I haven't played there in a while, it just so happens I have a small amount of money on there so for me it actually is a no deposit bonus.

Anyway, this is totally not out of the ordinary or even unethical imo.

Re: Winner poker misleading $100 no deposit bonus offer

i still think that they can at least put the words in the email a little differently and explain a little more that this is not a giveaway. i have many times got $10 no deposit bonus from pokersites and emails i got from those sites were just like this one. they offer me no deposit bonus of $10 and i get $10 to my account as soon as i contacted support,, like 888 gives sometimes these no deposit bonuses and when i get emails that say maybe ( deposit $20 and get $20 ) or something like that there is always terms and conditions on the bottom of the email where i can read about how this bonus works and there i can see if i have to collect points or something to claim the bonus. like i said in the post that i knew this was to good to be true i still had no idea what kind of bonus this was because it says no deposit bonus so i at least thought i get maby $10 and rest would be pending and not released until enough points were collected

pokerstars always says reload bonus of $150 or something and i know that this means i have to collect VPP to get something

Re: Winner poker misleading $100 no deposit bonus offer

I guess it begs the question, if you have to deposit into your account to take advantage of the no deposit bonus, is it still a no deposit bonus?

Easy fix would be to send these people money (seems Winner does this sometimes, according to people in the thread) or to just not send them to people with $0 in their account.

But are people in here really trying to argue that a $100 bonus in a $0 account is somehow a no deposit bonus when depositing would be the only way it could be used? (or if Winner does transfers, perhaps they would allow that, something tells me that wouldn't be allowed though, given how exploitable it could be).

Either way, I don't think this is too big a deal. Go read up about 888 and some other places taking 10% of a user's balance as a "maintenance fee" after 6 months of inactivity. More efficient place to express the outrage

Re: Winner poker misleading $100 no deposit bonus offer

The problem is, the threshold couldn't be $0 either - could someone with $0.01 ever clear this? How about $0.10? $1.00?

I don't think it's a big deal either, but some better wording and/or an account balance filter (maybe $10?) certainly would be an improvement.

Overall, I like to see sites doing these bonuses, but they need to be used properly. Making someone that is already well-rolled deposit more money for a bonus costs everyone money unnecessarily, while giving someone with no or little money on the site gets them nothing but resentment from people like OP. If it was instead given to those with little money online as a high % deposit bonus, it would probably be much better received.

I think I'm on my own with that point of view
