I have heard on other parts of the web that a 25% ($100) lump sum is credited and the rest is released incrementally. Is this true?

Depends by which affiliate you enter. The house bonus comes by 10$ (or 20$, not sure) increments and is worth 20% RB. Software really sucks, IMO and you should think about, if you want to put your roll in jeopardy, since LAP is known for random account closings.
