Well don't think it does effect first time deposit from what i can tell.
As they are tickets and don't need to deposit for them.

I just did this with no problems. After a few hours I got the $20 cash game ticket and also a ticket to tomorrow's 'Cool Million' worth $11. It sucks that you an only play on one table per ticket!! It could be a year before i manage to clear this thing!

Damn this thing is still running? Taking the free $20 and the ticket won't affect your $600 First Deposit bonus.. I took up the offer when it was just $20 and still qualified for the First Deposit bonus when I chose to deposit later. However if you somehow manage to run up the $20 to a few hundred and want to withdraw/transfer to Stars, that will void your First Deposit bonus.

i downloaded FT, paired my stars account and now i have a $20 ticket in my account.

all hunky dory but one thing confuses me, on the webpage where they have advertised the pairing promotion it says

Use it to buy-in to any ring game up to stakes of $0.10/$0.20

yet i dont see any super micros when i click on the available tables for my ticket, i thought it would make more sense to play 1c/2c with a $20 "roll". the lowest stakes i can find when i click on my ticket are 5c/10c.

im relatively inexperienced with cash games so not completely comfortable with the idea of starting at 5c/10c with what seems like too little for any brm rules.

are there any lower stakes i seem to have overlooked or should i just hit and hope at 10nl?

you could sit at a shallow stack 0.05/0.10 table with just 2 dollars if you want to get plenty of sessions out of the ticket.

playing shallow stacks imo is the weakest side of my sng game so cash games where i have even less experience i would ever more hesitant. despite my little experience i like to have a decent stack to develop the pot post flop, at least thats how ive seen cash game players on the tele do it.

i had a go with 100bb on a table with an ante, played about 20 hands and played decently before it quickly got short handed and i got uncomfortable so got up.

im thinking mentally prepare myself to play my A game and split it into maybe two or three buy ins. if it works, great, if i get sucked out as long as i played well, ill take it as a free lesson, or two, in cash game play.

good post, sounds like you've got your head screwed on right and know your own game and how you want to progress it...good luck with the $20 and the future.

lols, maybe not the best strategy in hindsight, blew off half the ticket in about 100 hands.... really struggle with adjusting to cash game play, got confused in so many spots and made two bad calls, but i guess one is usually enough to deal an irrecoverable blow to stack so i cant complain when i played so bad.
