I don't believe anything's been announced yet.

There aren't any new VIP levels planned. The only possible change for .com that would be considered major would involve changing away from the dealt method of assigning VPPs.

No, I have no further information to provide prior to the final announcement of changes.

I hope I can be glad for being a .fr player. Steve specifically mentioned changes for the .com site, nothing else. U think it will be for .com only and not for .fr or .it?

I would imagine the changes will be across the board.

Re: Changes to Pokerstars VIP Program for 2012?

So correct me if i'm wrong but so far we're still in the dark in regards to change to VPP attribution to playres. The only things i've seen so far was of concern to affiliates, not players. If it does get switched to weighted contributed VPP allocation, does any one of you have any thoughts as to were to take your business? I'm seriously thinking about Ipoker. Gonna try to get a good deal there and get ready for the worst. Naturally still hoping for the best and not having to move from stars.

Re: Changes to Pokerstars VIP Program for 2012?

The worst thing about a change is that if your VPIP is not high enough you will be forced to play more hours in order to keep the same VIP Level. This sucks in a huge way

Is there anything in the French or Italian legislation that requires it to be run a certain way?

Re: Changes to Pokerstars VIP Program for 2012?

I don't quite get it why people call this a money grab from stars... this isn't the same has FTP change which was infact a money grab since most high vpip players actually didn't have any rakeback at all but in this case since everyone gets FPPs they don't stand to gain anything at all no?

Ofc this doesn't mean i like it, i'm actually pissed and considering moving somewhere else cause if i got it right its gonna be like 20/25% more time to make SN now...

People who will get less VPPs in the new system will generally be a higher VIP level and thus those that will now receive less VPPs can get better value for their FPPs, so yes Stars would profit from this.

FTP: Take money from tight players who mostly have rakeback and give it to loose players how mostly don't have rakeback because that's fair. Pocket the difference.

Stars: Take VPPs from tight players who mostly have higher multipliers and get better FPP value and give them to players who have mostly lower multipliers and get worse FPP value. Pocket the difference.

A Bronze Star VPP is worth $0.010.
A Supernova VPP is worth $0.056.
A Supernova Elite VPP is worth $0.080.
^ Before milestones are applied to make the disparity even larger.

Stars is just begging to have a large outflow of clients

Re: Changes to Pokerstars VIP Program for 2012?

I find it extremely stupid that Stars hasn't announced all its changes. The players who do go for SN/SNE or plan to go for either or want/need to have somewhat of a plan developed for the new year.

The affects of switching methods as to be included in calculations?
Will there be a new achievement point in getting statuses?
What are the rakeback changes if any?
Will they consider the outflow of cash players to other sites or sngs/mtts?

Re: Changes to Pokerstars VIP Program for 2012?

^ Probably furiously trying to read every response related to WC changes now that they've effectively launched the affiliate change balloon.

1. Launch the affiliate WC floater to gauge reaction

2.

3.

4. Try to put everyone on an anger/probability of leaving scale.

5. Look at sample, try to estimate EV based on (rake paid + cash grabbed)*(probability of leaving) vs keeping Dealt.

6.

HAHAHA Nice post
Don't forget that a customer is king.
Pokerstars has a kind of monopoly, but I hope poker players would apply some pressure if the
decision were to get voted.
