Wireless speakers that work with overcast Wireless speakers that work with overcast

This is sort of computer adjacent.

I have been googling for a couple days and can't seem to find a simple (read not $500 each) wireless speaker system that will work with my podcast app on my iPhone. It's called overcast.

Sonos won't stream from the app. I think it needs to be AirPlay or Bluetooth. I just want a three speaker system, one in each room where I can stream podcasts to the all so as I walk from room to room I will hear same thing.

Am I actually asking too much? Can anyone help with a recommendation?

Thanks

I'd be surprised if there is such a system available, especially a wireless version.

The problem would be that your iPhone would not be able to connect to multiple speakers at the same time - it would need to drop one connection when out of range and then pick up another - the easiest way to do this would be Bluetooth as wifi range would be to great and not drop between rooms, but this would obviously cause interruptions in your podcast and make it worthless.

So you would need to connect to a central device which in turn has all of the speakers registered to it - this would all need to be wifi as Bluetooth would not work over any distance. The central device would also need to be a router connected to your modem, otherwise when using this system to play your podcasts your iPhone would have no internet access as the wifi is tied to your sound system.

I can't imagine anyone making this, tbh. It would consume lots of power (speakers in every room powered at all times), have limited scope of sales (couldn't sell it to a family of 4 for example) and potentially have lots of dead spots in the house where the wifi signal is too weak to breach the walls.
