First crash, and it's a doozy.

Game running in window mode, swap to chrome to browse while it runs in background. Game sound stops. Most everything stops responding. Task manager has me at 40+% on one screen and 100% CPU on another. Takes ages to swap between the screens.

Incapable of closing any programs from task manager to see what the issue is. Can't close them any other way. Try to restart, nothing happens. Ctrl alt delete gives me the grey option screen. Try to reset or shutdown from there, nothing.

Not going so well.

I end up having to Ctrl+Shift+Esc to manually shut down the browser. Then I reopen and everything is fine.

For example, I might try closing a tab and everything freezes. I shut it down through the task manager, reopen, restore my tabs, and everything is normal except the tab I was closing is now gone.

I've tried running in compatibility mode, reinstalling chrome, CCleaner, MalwareBytes, etc. Not sure what is causing it.
And lastly, Firefox works just fine.
I had the same kind of problem, but w/ Firefox. Seems to have cleared up now, as have had no hangs in the last two days.

Upgraded some weeks ago, all running fine (no poker thought).
What I especially liked is that my Windows OS directory ended up being 20 GB smaller (mostly due to the LOLWINSXS directory).

Only thing is that my DVD drive has disappeared, not taken the time yet to figure that out

Probably a missing updated driver.
My printer vanished, and worse yet, Canon seems to not want to produce an updated driver.

Most people forget to update their drivers once they have upgraded their OS. A few things were a bit wonky on my laptop after upgrading, but after updating all drivers from my manufacturer's website, all issues were solved and Windows 10 has been running without issue since.

I haven't upgraded yet, but probably will eventually.

My understanding is that this is standard, and maybe even intentional, for Windows 10. Please let us know what you do about this.

Not standard to have a disappearing DVD drive. My blu-ray drive works fine in win 10.

Windows 10 disables playback for studio movies directly from a DVD/blu-ray drive (pretty sure this what you read about), so you have to playback using third-party software (such as VLC media player).

That may well be it. I'll keep the VLC in mind for when the time comes. Thanks!

I recently bought a dell inspiron 15 7000 series 7559 and most of the apps are blurry and small. All poker clients are really small with the exception of stars but that is blurry.
I have tried messing around with the resolution etc but nothing seems to work. Google chrome is fine. Am i missing something simple?

Did you try lowering the DPI Scaling to 125 or lower - http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5...dows-10-a.html

I have tried this, it sorts out the blurriness but would need a magnifying glass to use the screen. I done this using option one in your link.

What size/resolution monitor? I use 100% on my 27" 2560x1440 and everything is fine. I never understood how people could use higher scaling. The only device I use higher scaling on is my Dell Venue Pro 8 tablet just so I can have bigger things to touch with my fingers.

I haven't even tried hooking my monitor up yet. Will i not be able to get a normal looking resolution to grind on laptop alone. Google chromes looks perfectly normal its just poker sites, skype etc that are small and blurry. If i scale to 125 or lower like you said everything becomes really small desktop icons menu bar etc

I am completely confounded about how it actually worked, but I just installed 10 64-bit using nothing but a 7 32-bit upgrade disc.

Used the 32-bit media creation to make a 10 boot usb, installed that on an empty hard drive. Used the 7 upgrade disc to install 7 32-bit clean install. MS update to SP1, which is now somehow a 5kb update or so, claimed my 10 free copy and updated to 10 32-bit, let it authenticate my copy of 10 while making a 64-bit usb boot drive, then did a clean install of 64-bit Windows 10.

I guess they authenticate to hardware config now, which is why you can clean install 64-bit and not have to enter a serial in that equation.

I haven't noticed much of a problem, except one reset in relation to pdfs which I think came with the anniversary update. What file types are you having trouble with?
Windows 10 Feedback Quote

pdf, picture files, video files

currently i use default programs from control panel to set the file associations, but next day they r reset back to win10 defaults

if u google file associations & win10, there r tons of people w this problem but no fix other than the registry one i mentioned

settings (gear icon in start) > system > default apps > choose default apps by file type (it's in blue type under the generic default apps)

instead of control panel

Did this work?
