VPN for Betfair poker VPN for Betfair poker

Hello! Sorry if this is the wrong section.

Problem - I live in Latvia, and all of gambling domains are blocked by provider, but it's not illegal to play there and so on, just that domains are blocked.

I used to play on Betfair using Hotspot shield VPN like 6-8 months ago (yes, Betfair are fine with people using VPN's), but now HS is not doing the trick anymore.

Can anyone suggest a VPN that will do it? Or any other option to get around domain blockade?

Thank you!

I'm assuming you are using the free Hotspot VPN?

Use a paid VPN and find one with a trial so you can see if it works. I would start with PIA

If the domain is locked why not change your DNS to googles?

I use Elite version. I can access Betfair homepage, probably could place bets with it, but the poker client won't start up.

What country ip have you selected to tunnel your connection? Lets say you use VPN and select USA as your "country" no wonder it wont start.

Nah, I'm not that bad. I've tried many, mostly I use "Germany" as my main country.

Why not set up your own private VPN on a VPS? I know some that go for about 3-4€ per month and are more than enough for you to play, plus you don't share IP with a bunch of other people.

Thank you for the reply!
I got to test it till end of weekend, and with noirvpn I can't even open the web page (not only betfair, but stars and all other blocked ones as well). I get 'ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT'.
I am using win 10 btw.

^ I did changed my DNS to googles without any result.

I've been using AirVPN for about 2 years. They have good customer service and many different ip addresses, including several from germany. They offer 3 days for .65 euro right now to test it out.

strange I don't use your site, but here in France I did get in with the vpn I use...a connection to the site anyway, without issue.
Perhaps something in your cookie or browser is keeping track of you...works for me.

Are there any other sites ok with players using VPN besides betfair?

I've been looking into VPN's lately, not for poker or torrenting just for the principle. Right now, I get ProtonVPN for free because I already have a $4/mo ProtonMail account. Is there any reason not to put my trust into that one? After the Beta stage, it might cost as much as $20/mo (if I can't use it without upgrading my email tier).

The number of VPN options is overwhelming, but some besides Proton that caught my eye are Riseup (which boasts about Bitmask), ivpn and airvpn.

Anyone have thoughts on the ones I've mentioned, or better recommendations?

2+2 doesn't condone the discussion of VPNs for poker sites.
