Business setup with laptop?

I have been looking for a while but can't really seem to find a good answer to my problem;
I work as a manager in an office day-to-day, but am traveling abroad more and more. Currently I have a desktop set up in the office with two screens attached to it. My work consists of a ton of mail, excel, reporting software and monitoring our ERP system. I have some heavy duty excel stuff so more RAM is good for me.
Our software is all designed to be optimized for 1920*1080 resolutions, so anything smaller will greatly decrease my efficiency.
I would like to switch to a laptop, but I don't want to give up my second screen. However, using a laptop next to a screen seems suboptimal, and I have not yet found how I can use 2 screens on a laptop without a docking station.
Docking stations make the laptop usually big and heavy, and in here (EU), you pay double the price for a laptop with the possibility for docking.
Now the new macbook pro has caught my eye; it is very portable, has the 1920*1080 resolution I so desparately want and it looks nice.
Does anyone have experience with it? If I would use this with a 27" thunderbolt screen, I suppose I would have a usable setup, although the laptop screen is half the size of the main screen which would be annoying.
Additionaly; could I buy the macbook pro in the US and take it to the EU? This would save me a ton of money ($2400 vs €2600)

In the meanwhile I discovered that it would even be possible to run with 2 thunderbolt screens with a closed macbook. It is a pity that they are not available at a more reasonable size and price - I now will have to think about it as dropping $4500 on a new setup is pretty hefty.
