What do you want to converter the file into? .MPG, .AVI etc? Do you just want the file to be playable on computers with anything other than quicktime. Download Cool MOV to MPEG conventer should solve your problems and simple to use.

I think the OP wants to change the orientation of the video (if the camera was held vertically vs. horizontally). You can convert the .MOV file to .AVI, then use MovieMaker (see this thread) on Windows.
