If it matters I only play on stars. Sorry about all the dumb questions and I admit I'm ignorant about wifi. Here goes...take a deep breath!

1. I am considering getting a 3G card. Would I be able to play 12 tables, 25 hours/week and not go over the 5MB data restriction of my wireless provider? Will a 3G card even be fast enough for me to play this many tables at once? If not, what to you think the max is?
2. Can stars or for that matter a boss tell where I am if I'm playing on a 3G card? I would think they can just track your IP address, but I don't know if geolocation is enabled on aircards or not?
3. How do I go about securing my laptop? If I play in coffee shops is it extremely vulnerable? Or is it no more vulnerable that playing from home? I have an anti virus and zone alarm firewall, but do I need more?
4. Now that I think about it I'm wondering if I should avoid public wireless? I'd hate to be playing someplace where someone else has played before and be linked to somebody else via IP address
5. Do you use keyboard shortcuts or a mouse w/ table ninja or poker shortcuts?
6. If there are a lot of people sharing the wireless connection will my connection be slower than it would be w/ less people?
7. Now that I think about it when I'm using public wireless I have to "agree" to whatever it is I agree to in order to be able to use their internet. I should read that next time. Does that mean they can view what I'm doing online? Should I be weary of entering sites where I have to enter my password?

Thanks in advance for your patience

Bueller?....Bueller?

Looks like Verizon will be making an announcement about 4G today. Same question to 4G with regard to data usage. I'm sure it should be fast enough to support multi tabling

1. I'm not sure how much data would be used. The only real way you would know is if you monitored your usage on your normal connection for awhile to get a baseline. Or ask someone else who has done so before (I don't know of anyone). I don't think Stars or Verizon can answer this question.

2. All Stars can see is your IP. If a lookup was done on your IP all it would show is what company it's registered to (Verizon). Verizon, on the other hand, can probably triangulate the wireless signal if they wanted to find out your physical location. Not sure what your concern is here.

3. If you're talking about playing in public places on their free wifi, then yes, your system is much more vulnerable. But if you're talking about playing over your phone card but in public, it's not any less secure than playing at home. Running a simple firewall is enough protection.

4. Connecting to public wifi (again, if that's what you mean) is always risky because you don't know what else exists on that network. Your traffic can be sniffed and your box can be attacked from within the network. Again, a firewall protects you in this situation.

5. I don't play much anymore but I used to use a couple AHK scripts to do simple things but never used TableNinja specifically.

6. Again, not sure if you're talking about wifi or the cellular card. If you join a wifi network that has a ton of people on it, it will get slower with the more people connected. With your cell card, you should get the advertised speed pretty much all the time. The only time you might notice it's slower is in areas where your signal isn't that great.

7. When you're on someone else's network, usually you give up the right to privacy on said network. That's what those agreements are for. Because if you do something illegal from their connection, they want you to be able to be held liable for it. As long as the sites your visiting are secure sites (SSL Certificates) you shouldn't worry too much about entering your password.

Hopefully this information helps you.

If you are only playing poker you won't get anywhere near 5GB. Just stay away from streaming videos.

I've used table ninja and you can assign actions to keys or mouse buttons (except left-click). I use a combination of these two options.

Yes - http://www.thinkbroadband.com/tbbmeter.html is one of a number of free bandwidth monitors.

All the images, etc are stored on your cpu, all you are doing is sending bits of text back and forth that tell your cpu what to display.
