Spybot Search and Destroy

I installed spybot and it deleted 9 things but i found spybot just made the computer super slow so today i uninstalled it and the computer is back to standard, and was just wondering since it seems to keep the computer slow installed, would it be a good idea to just instal it and do a clean every so often and once done uninstall it so the computer don't slow down?

I'm using Norton Antivirus and Mawarebytes also btw but just thought maybe spybot was OK to use at times.

Super Anti-Spyware is better and generally recommended iirc.

Free. http://download.cnet.com/SuperAntiSp...-10523889.html

Take your time installing, sometimes there are toolbars/AV/browsers attached to free stuff. You don't want/need any of that.

From what I can tell, based on the issues you've been having in this thread and others, I would really advise you to do a clean install of Windows, especially if you use the machine for poker.

Re: Spybot Search and Destroy

It's fairly simple nowadays. I presume you are using either Vista or 7 because of the Aero design, so the only question is if you have an installation CD or not? First of all you need to backup any files you may need later on. Then just pop in the CD and I think there is an option to reinstall or install in there. It's important that you don't try to repair, I would just wipe the hard drive that has Windows on it (maybe write down the hard drive letter and how large it is, so you don't wipe the wrong one if you have multiple hard drives). Format it to NTFS. There is no point me giving you an exact description of every step, because honestly I'm not sure what the entire sequence is and what everything is called in the English version, so here is a link from Google on how to reinstall Windows 7: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/operat...all-part-1.htm

Re: Spybot Search and Destroy

I would take Malwarebytes over Superantispyware and Spybot every day and twice on sunday.

Re: Spybot Search and Destroy

Gabethebabe I done a scan with Malwarebytes today and it found Zero than done a scan with Spybot and it found 3 which it removed so a bit confusing.
