Someone with good protection check a link for me?

I just got a very odd text in my cell that I'm afraid to check because I'm not sure how secure my computer is. I let my virus protection expire.

If someone feels real safe, and willing to check the http addy for me please pm and I'll send the address. I don't want to post it here obviously, so others don't get hurt if it's bad.

Again, please only pm me if you're confident in your protection.

*I've searched the phone number it came from, and googled the http address. Got nothing from that.

If the url is unknown to you then why not delete & forget about it? I've never ever clicked an unknown link - there's never anything worthwhile at the other end of such a deal

But if you have to then you can check a url quite safely without clicking on it:

Thanks Loki. Followed your suggestions. Ended up going to the site. A "you're pre-qualified for a auto loan". pfffft. Not about to go further and give personal info. Don't want a new car. Don't need id stolen.
