Ive used a canon mp530 printer and have been refilling cartridges and resetting the chips for years.

My mom is 1700 miles form me, so i cant refill carts for her is is need of a new AIO Print Scan Copy and id like to find a manufacturer recommendation( even a model) that will be realtively easy for her to refill the cartridges.
Ive a read a bit about the Epson aftermarket carts with ARC( auto reset chips), can someone perhaps give me a primer/experience on the latest in printers and refilling.

Thanks

Is she technical enough that she will want to mess with it? Seems easier to find her a better place to buy replacement cartridges from. And the support calls you'll get will suck...

She is pretty good with things like that, if i show her once she gets it. Im going back to visit in 6 or 8 weeks and thought i would have everything she will need sent to her house so i can set it up and show her how its done when im there. The new printer is to go along with a new computer im configuring and taking back for her.

That said, she may not print enough to warrant refill etc, so a very good option would be a printer with cheap replacement cartridges.
I already know to stay away form multicolor cartridge printers.

So perhaps the direction should be a manufacturer/printer that meets her needs( AIO) with cartridges that are cheap to replace and easy to order.
She will not be printing photographs.
