This is it, the Samsung 830 128GB and 256GB are both on sale

Slickdeals link

The 128 is $110, 256 is $210 - which you can get to $100 or $200 with a couple minutes work to get a $10 off coupon.

Company is BuyDig which is not a bigger name but they've been around; I don't know them well enough to vouch though so do your homewood accordingly. Off to the side there's a way to save another $10 buy posting a facebook or twitter link and having a friend (at a different IP!) click on it.

The 830 is, in my opinion, the best all-around SSD on the market. It's got an excellent rep for reliability, top notch speeds and Toggle NAND memory. For $100 or $200 this is a great deal. Drives are very in demand because of their extreme performance and reliability - toss in a really good sale price and it's pretty much the nuts. These operate on their own controller also.

Anandtech Review

Catch(es): Sales tax in NJ, retailer not as well known as the big places. You can also expect this deal to go pretty fast.

And ofc, SSD prices have been dropping as of late, so a month from now this could be a normal price. I don't know but for now a very good deal on a standout drive.

Re: This is it, the Samsung 830 128GB and 256GB are both on sale

The Samsung that's on sale. A 2.5" adapter can be had for $8 or something if you need one, though you can be lazy and duct tape it inside the case, it's not like there are moving parts or heat problems. The M4 at $10 more isn't even in the decision. The $99 Samsung with upgrade kit isn't either. Unless you really want to populate the drive by vampiring an existing one, which I don't recommend, why pay $100 for a 64GB drive when you can get a far better 128GB version for the same price?

My situation is a little different. I'm not buying from US but from europe as my brother is in austria. My choices are those 3. I was just wondering which one would you pick factoring performance and brand. The Corsair does seem faster at the expense of slightly less GBs(no big deal for me) but in the other hand the Crucial is extremely well rated, it does have a little low write speed though(less than 100). If I could get that one on sale I would in an instant but I'd have to pay import taxes

Which one would you prefer from those 3?

SSD speeds can vary considerably based on capacity even along the same line. As far as brand loyalty I like both but would favor the Samsung, and the bulk of important benchmarks seem to favor it as well. If you can get the upgrade kit and drive adapter thrown in for about the same money all the better.

I didn't see a Corsair drive in those you listed, just two Samsungs and the M4. But my answer will still be the Samsung provided it's not a significantly higher cost than the other options.

That Corsair is supposed to be faster(according to specs) than the Samsung and the AnandTech site shows that is seems slightly better(I had to choose 120GB benchmarks, 60 is not listed)

The Corsair is about 4 EUR cheaper than the Samsung. Would you still pick Samsung? Why?

Force 3 is a good drive, good reviews, has a SF controller. But no, you can't compare 64GB to 128GB benchmarks. Like I was saying before SSDs usually are faster at higher capacities. It's just how their architecture works, generally speaking.

Try comparing a 64GB M4 to a 256GB M4 and you'll see what I mean. Two very different performance classes.

I would pick the Samsung for +4 EUR for the brand reliability and to avoid the SF controller.

Yeah the Samsung 128GB beats the Corsair F3 128GB, so its probably better
