Pauly, I haven't read everything you posted but in relation to the computers you're considering buying, I would say that you should not get a Mac. With the greatest respect you have enough trouble keeping a Windows machine operating. While using a Mac normally would be no more difficult, using it for poker would require you to install and dual boot into Windows. I don't rate your chances of getting along with that way of working.

hi thunder bolts thanks for the response. The reason i considered a mac was because i hear mac has very little issues. I had battery issues, screen issues and many other issues with the sager. My old asus laptop had issues with it going to sleep randomly and video card when connected to an external monitor. Also it was very slow i3 which is why i went and got a faster laptop in the sager after getting recommendations by people here to get it.

So with a macbook, i figure even if i use windows, well shouldn't that mean lesser chances of having problems? Dual booting windows doesn't sound that hard. Then again of course i might run into problems due to me usually having issues with computer.

Basically those 5 laptops i posted, 3 are asus zenbook... well 2 of them are same model except one of them is i7 and 512gb whereas the other is i5 and 256gb. The other 2 laptop is just macbook pro 13.3 with i5 processor or macbook air 13.3 with i5 processor. But macbook air looks like an entertainment notebook.

There just aren't that many i7 quad core laptops out there. On amazon, they have just one HP, asus and a dell. Then of course sager and those other gaming laptops but i want to avoid it due to my many issues with this sager np2740.

I'm looking into getting a DD-WRT compatible router. It's just going to be me in my flat, and my internet connection will be 100MBps fibre optic all the way into the flat.

I stream movies/TV a lot and game online. I've I've concluded that it's not worth getting an AC1900 router but is AC1200 worth it, or should AC750 suffice?

Hey guys. Does anyone know of a way to get my old configuration on stars back? Im using a new computer now and i did back up certain files on the old hard drive to an external hard drive. also have a usb drive as well. I cannot find the user.xxx.xml file as stars told me it should be there. Also was told it should not be in the pokerstars folder.

Im positive that it should be in my flash drive because i seen it there yet it isn't there.

Does anyone know what i can do? Could all my configurations have been destroyed when my laptop shut down on me?

Is there any significant difference in KeePass and Dashlane? I have a free upgrade to Dashlane for 3 years and am wondering if it's a good product. Asking here as I'm not sure which tech review sites are to be trusted and not just shills.

First question: have you enabled "show hidden files" in Windows Explorer?

I got this issue resolved. Yes i had show hidden files in windows explorer. Basically it was very hard to find these user.xml files but eventually i found it.

One other question.

For those of you who play on window 10 or went from windows 7 to 10, can someone tell me how do i fix the borders on pokerstars tables, holdem manager and every program with how it looks? Even when you click on my pc or anything. For example when i tile 4 tables on pokerstars, there is a bit of gap between each one. There was never this on windows 7 for me on pokerstars. The other thing is when you look at each table, thats not how it looked before. Such that the edge/corners of each side is not like how it is with windows 7.

Is there a way to fix this? Im not sure what the proper term of this is called. But for example i know back in windows 7 with pokerstars tables, you had the option to have no borders or tilebars or something like that which is something i would never do because it looks horrible. Yet windows 10 looks a lot like this already. So i guess this is a windows 10 thing that makes every window look very unusual if that makes sense in what im saying?

I believe this has something to with aeros? I had used windows 7 and i think i had used aeros but not sure. But basically with windows 7, the windows were sort of a clear glass theme etc?

Just get a mac pauly.

My PC exploded and instead of getting a new one figured would try out my macbook pro with a 40 inch monitor and it works a treat. Tried installing windows 10 with bootcamp but refused to start not sure why just reformatted and got used to playing without table ninja. PT4 works fine on a mac so not sure why you would need to install windows as well. Really impressed with the mac tbh prob need a large external drive if you have alot files like me.

The latop I've been using to play poker for the past 4 years isn't powerful enough to run pio very well.

The current specs are:

Intel Core i3 2.20 GHz processor
4GB RAM
256GB SSD (1TB external HDD)
Windows 8.1

Could you guys recommend specific hardware upgrades I could buy? Or do you think I'm just going to have to splash £1200 on a new desktop? It's a Toshiba Satellite C870 and I connect it to a 27inch monitor via a vga cable fwiw

If I didn't mention any specs that are important to determine what I should change then please let me know as I'm a total computer noob so this all just Chinese to me.

Thanks.

Your laptop only supports up to 8gb RAM. You have an old processor. Windows 8.

Buy something new, no need to spend that much money though. Someone from your side of the world can probably give you a better recommendation on where to shop.

You're both right. He hasn't given the full model name so we actually have no idea. Judging by Toshiba's website there are LOTS of Satellite C870s.

hurtNCYDE, you need to check what model it really is. This will be Toshiba Satellite C870-xxx. It makes a huge difference here. For example the C870-11J will only let you expand up to 8Gb, whereas the C870-1h2 will let you install 16Gb.

A while back I got a Asus 27" LED G-Sync Rog Swift PG279Q monitor, which works great except that sometimes a few pixels in the middle of the screen will move to the far right or left side of the monitor, leaving 'stripe' missing in the middle of the screen.

It is a pure visual 'monitor' thing - taking a screenshot will show everything ok (unless it's displayed over the troublesome pixel-stripe) and the part to the left or right where it shows what should be in the middle, is not part of the usable screen - if it's at the right (where I have no monitor to the right) the mouse cursor won't pass over the area - to the left (where I do have a monitor) the mouse cursor will 'jump over' the displayed area and go directly to the second monitor.

A restart fixes it and it doesn't happen that often, but still something I'd like to fix if possible - I can't find anything about this issue after a quick google-search (but it's a bit hard to find a good search-string for it also), but maybe someone here has an idea?

Newest drivers and all that.

I have 3 Samsung EVO SSDs in a new desktop. Only 1 is showing up. Windows 10. This should be the most obvious fix ever, but I'm somehow overlooking something.

Will contact support, but as it's the weekend, if anyone has suggestions I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

(If there's other info that's needed, it's the desktop from this thread that I'm still starting to set up:
