I accidentally got Privitize VPN on my laptop. I accidentally downloaded it and installed it. I am not sure if malware is the right word but essentially this program is something that really F's your computer up and it quite tough to get rid of.

My main question is whether I should be worried about it having gotten onto other devices on the network.

I realized right after it got installed the error I had made. I then
1) uninstalled it
2) did advanced uninstaller (it found a couple of other things in the registry, removed those),
3) downloaded Spybot search and destroy & did a scan (it found one thing, which I removed),
4) downloaded Microsoft Security essentials and did a scan (it did not find anything).
5) then I decided to shut down my other computer & the printer, which are also on the same network. I thought that this would help protect them.
6) realized that it might be better to use a restore point a little before I downloaded the malware. So I did that & that's where I am now. I have kept that computer off of my network except for the first hour and a half after I downloaded this malware (and wasn't thinking).

If you got rid of it with a system restore I think you can breathe normally

Unlikely it spreads and if it does, you will surely not such an obnoxious software

From what I know about Privatize VPN, it doesn't spread across network / usb devices.

Even though you have restored your system to a working state, I'd recommend going through the malware sticky, to ensure there are no residuals http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/48...puter-1028333/
