Powerpoint presentation issue

Hi,

I have some kind of overview slide (slide 2) on which items appear one at a time. Those items are hyperlinks that, upon clicked, will lead to a certain slide further in the presentation. On those slides, I have action buttons that lead back to the overview slide. So the typical order of my presentation is something like: 2, 5-6, 2, 7, 2, 8-11, 2, ... (going from slide 2 to slide x by clicking a specific hyperlink and from those slides back to slide 2 with an action button.

The disadvantage of this is that the presenter has to click on a specific location on the slide (either a hyperlink or an action button) to navigate through the presentation as it's meant to be (if he just clicks randomly on a slide with a mouse, pointer device or uses the keyboard arrows, the order would simply be 2, 3, 4, ...).

Is there a way to solve this? Somehow *store* the order of slides so that simple clicking will cause the intended order instead of 2, 3, 4, ...?
I already considered invisible action buttons the size of a slide, but this would only work for the 'return buttons' and not for the hyperlinks on the overview slide (unless I make different action buttons appear and disappear together with the items that are currently hyperlinks, which seems tedious?). On top of that, it would probably still be impossible to use the keyboard arrows with this solution?

Any other solutions?

Re: Powerpoint presentation issue

On the left hand side it in powerpoint it shows all if the slides, you can drag and drop where you want them. Say you have slides 1,2,3,4 created and after slide 4 you want to show slide 2 again. On the left hand side where all the slides are listed right click slide 2>click copy, go down to the empty space below slide 4 right cluck and paste. Now your slide show will go 1, 2,3,4,2. And you simply move through slides by clicking the mouse (doesn'tatter where obv)

Re: Powerpoint presentation issue

It's a good possibility, so simple that I hadn't even thought of it. One problem is that slide 2 has like the most elaborate animation scheme ever so I would have to create a copy of it in a different 'phase' of the animation for every time it is shown, which is quite a lot of work.

Basically, I'm just hoping there is a more efficient way
