Need a Tablet for using HEM2 and 1 tabling Need a Tablet for using HEM2 and 1 tabling

Hi guys,

Is it possible to review all the hands I played on my PC in a tablet and then play HU (1 tabling?).

I normally play 10-120 tables in my PC for a good 10hrs and I can hardly sit in front of it when my session is over and I'm going to review my game , take notes ,mark stuff ,etc.
And I sometimes play Heads-up too when there is no traffic or other reasons and hate sitting in front of the PC .

So I'm thinking about buying a tablet to play HU and review hands and stuff. I use HEM2.

Can I do this in a tablet and if I can give me some good suggestions .

Thanks in advance.

You will be able to do this with "Surface with Windows 8 Pro" and more details can be found here:
http://www.microsoft.com/Surface/en-...ows-8-pro/home

I'm not sure if you can do it with the Windows RT version, so you might have to wait till the Pro version comes out.

Thank you

I guess I can't play poker in any other tablet ? I wanted to buy an ipad , but I guess it'll be of no use.

BTW , Is this surface tablet just like a laptop without a keyboard? Can I install/do everything on it that I can do in a PC or a laptop?

You can play poker on most tablets, but HEM2 is the problem. Afaik it is not designed for any tablets.

The Surface (windows 8 only) is part Laptop, part tablet ... Keyboard plugs in to the tablet to make it a laptop. It's really new, so I don't have any experience with it yet.

I'm pretty sure there a pokerstars app to play on the ipad but I doubt there is anyway to use hem2 with it.

There is a way off the top of my head by using your ipad to connect and view your desktop pc and have the stuff running off your desktop. So using your ipad to control and view your desktop.

The surface tablet is basically just like a laptop with windows 8 on it.
You can buy a keyboard that attaches to it by magnets and then you just flop the kickstand down to make it like a laptop.

Really amazing and will probably make laptop sales go down.

Thanks, Saw reviews for surface pro on you tube. Looks cool.
IF I can play poker on any tablet , I would prefer the ipad3 thought
I asked HEM support about this and they told me , I can use HEM2 to review stuff on any tablet but it won't work for live play.
I guess I will still be able to play using HUD on surface pro.

A surface pro is just a laptop with a touch screen running windows 8 pro. It can do anything a windows 8 laptop can do.

There's lots of other options other than the surface for this, most major manufacturers are bringing out tablet pcs.

A good one will setyou back more than the ipad though.

Depends ... There are different versions of Windows 8.

The version currently on the Surface RT is weak, not highly compatible with other apps and the Surface RT has a poor processor.

The version that will be coming on Surface Pro (Q1 2013) is different - has an i5 processor and runs Windows 7 apps.

The version on the pro tablet is the desktop version, you can run whatever you want on it.

You can run as many tables as your processor and screen size will let you.

Pro version is straight up x86 windows and can run HEM or poker clients natively.

My recommendation would be remote desktop/VNC/Logmein session to your main computer so you have your existing db/configurations available

OP you should be able to do this with any tablet running windows 8 pro. For example, the samsung ativ smart pc pro or the sony vaio pro version or whatever it is called.

Tablets like the iPad / Galaxy / Surface no idea but you can buy tablets that run Windows and are basically just laptops with touch screens. I've used one for poker for 8-9 years first with Windows XP and now Windows 7

i was looking at the acer w510 with the intel atom processor and windows 8 but i don't know if this processor is strong enough to run HEM1 and 5-6 poker sites.

Any ideas?

Of course intel i5 would be a beter choice for poker, but the i5-i3 tablets are bigger and heavier. If Atom Z2760 can run HEM1, acer w510 would be my choice for a longer battery life and a better portability.

Windows 8 tablets should all be able to support this, Windows RT is kind of a capon. There are other Windows 8 tablets besides Surface Pro some for 500-700 bucks make sure you get Windows 8.

I have 1 tabled on my Dell Venue Pro 8 with HM2 and a small database but having only 2GB of RAM is less than ideal IMO. I put the PSQL database on the Micro SD expansion card.

A better solution for a live HUD on a Windows 8 tablet if you play cash games on one of the currently supported sites is HM Cloud Beta. It is much less resource intensive than HM2 as the database is stored on our servers instead of on the tablet.

sorry for late reply.

Fozzy the surface pro isent it quite a more powerfull machine compared to the dell venue 8pro ?

Surface pro has a stronger CPU, 4G ram ? ( as far as i know)

My need are

Play 1-2 table with HEM 2 HUD running

I wont be having a large DB as i dont play that often, maybe 100 K hands or so at the max.

Use it for off table analys. With programs sush as flopzilla, Propoker tools, Equilab.

Yes it is more powerful than my tablet and I would expect u wont have any issues using the HUD on one or two tables.
